I didn't exercise for a couple of days in Oct when I had a sore throat and was coughing too much to get through my workout and I skipped a day in Dec when I had an upset stomach.
If it's just allergies or something minor I give it a try!

I exercise as long as I can breathe. If coughing from my asthma becomes an issue, I stop or slow down.

If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results.

I've heard that if the sickness is above the neck, exercise is fine. I've also heard that you should do the 15 minute test ( work out for 15 minutes and if you can't continue on its okay to stop) but its really all about what your body can do. Just don't talk yourself out of working out if you are just tired at the end of the day for the sake of going home. Hope you feel better

I think you must be in tuned with your body. Slowing down a bit helps heal. Stretching is good for me to do even if in bed. Every little bit helps.
Thinking of others and how your germs may be spread is basic community. Be thoughtful of your actions in public please.

When u are sick, it mostly because your immune system is weak. This being said, exercise would tend to make it weaker, however if u are young u could possibility get through a workout all dandy. But if u went to a public gym to workout then u would be possibility affecting other folks who are not as young as u. I recently put a gym in my home, to keep from having to go to the gym where I was a member because I managed to stay sick most of the winter. Have not(knock on wood) been sick since I left the public gym atmosphere. All Im saying is think of others before u spread your germs all over the gym emoticon emoticon emoticon

i CAN And will do this in spite of any obstruction be it man or beast or, friend or foe vietnam12veteran@gmail.com

Odd, I had a nasty cold this fall passed on by a co-worker. Sick, listless for 5 days, the usual over the counter meds and an antibiotic Rx were being taken. I decided exercise would kill me or cure me. 30 minutes stationary bike followed by an hour bike (usual time) the next day did more to clear out my lungs and sinuses than all the meds.

Depends on how worn out I feel - sometimes I think I will get better faster if I just rest. If it's not too bad I exercise but not as intense. For the most part, I just rest with any sickness. I think most experts say if your symptoms are from the neck up and you don't have a fever you are ok to exercise but don't go too intense. Chest congestion, stomach issues, and fever you want to take it easy.

Haven't been sick in the last two years. no cold, no flu, no virus. But yes, if it was just a cold, I would still exercise.

I excercise with a basic cold, but never the flu. I find when I have a cold, exercising actually helps me feel better.

It all depends. I guess you just need to listen to your body. I always push but I adjust my intensity

For the past few days I have felt like I was coming down with a cold. Really tired, achy, sneezing, bit of a cough, etc. I kept up with walking, although not as long, until yesterday when I was just too tired to get myself out the door.

Do you try and push yourself to exercise when you are not feeling well? Lay off till you feel better? Is it unwise to keep up with exercise if you are feeling icky but don't have a full blown illness?

Eager for your thoughts!
