I love my pedometer. It keeps me on track with steps, miles, and calories burned.

It is a estimate at least it is better than guessing. It depends on how you walk so it could vary. They are good to have especially it you have a medical problem. It can keep you motivated and do better.

I have a pedometer and liked it-when it was accurate. However it seemed not to be alot so that was unproductive.

Thanks for the info, I've been considering this purchase myself.

I did BodyMedia for about 6 months and it recorded my activity in yellow bars that I brought up on the computer and you can actually see how hard you are working.

I love my fitbit... the techie part of it (synchronizing with my computer, etc.) is something that helps keep me motivated. I've had mine since October and have not missed a single planned walk... five days a week without fail. And I find I am competitive with myself. I did not do well with a traditional pedometer and had less faith that it was as consistent.

I recently bought a Sportsline one from Walmart

We love the dual pack at Academy Sports and Outdoors. I think it is by Sportsline but it is a dual pack for $20 or $25. We have bought about a dozen over the years but these have lasted the longest and have been the most accurate. If you can go with something more pricey then I would suggest Fitbit. That is what I use now and I love it

Well, there are lots of different options out there depending on how much you're willing to pay. If you're looking for a no frills pedometer, OMROM makes a good one. This is an example of a no frills pedometer. www.amazon.com/Omron-HJ-112-Digital-Pocket -Pedometer/dp/B0000U1OCI/ref=sr_1_1?ie =UTF8&qid=1359391555&sr=8-1&keywords=p edometer Now, if you're looking for something with more bells and whistles, then you might consider a Fitbit. A Fitbit will track your steps as well as distance, calories burned, stairs climbed, etc. It costs more money, but if you're looking for a fitness gadget to keep you motivated, you might try the Fitbit. And there are different models of Fitbit. www.amazon.com/Fitbit-Wireless-Activity-Sl eep-Tracker/dp/B0095PZHPE/ref=sr_1_1?s =hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1359391709&sr=1-1&key words=fibit Read the customer reviews (the good and bad) to see which model of pedometer would be right for you. And you do have to decide what features you'd like. If you just want to track steps, then an OMROM will do. but if you want to find out calories burned, etc... then you'll need to pay a bit more.

Hi everyone, I am planning on getting myself a pedometer. I had some experiences before - but none really helpful. So I'm wondering - it there something I should know about pedometers and what I should and should not look for? Thankful for all your suggestions and comments.
