hello. i am new AGAIN to sparkpeople. i have come and gone many times. after thanksgiving i started to workout, AGAIN, after months of not doing so. I have struggled on and off for 2 years now to lose my 15-20 pounds yet AGAIN for my 50 bday coming in march. dec. 6 i fell and broke my fifth metatarsal. i have been unable to use my foot until just recently, putting light pressure on it per doctors orders. i have ALWAYS struggled to stay with an exercise program. ALWAYS. my heart is just not in it, even though i know it's good for me. i've never been an avid exerciser/workout person. i've tried tae bo and like it, but don't do it for more than the 30 minute dvd. i also like to ride the (very old fashioned) stationary bike in my basement while listening to my mp3. these past two years i've become so completely discouraged in trying anything for weight loss, from counting calories to any sort of physical exertion because i cannot lose weight anymore. i've tried to eat approx 1200 calories a day, but have just recently come to realize that my bmr/rmr is 1307 for my height, weight and age. i think i've damaged my metabolism, but also am h**l bent on losing this weight just the same. since i've broken my foot, i can't exercise, even if i wanted to. my biggest question right now is: how many calories should i be eating to get my metabolism back in order, and start losing weight again. i hope to be up and walking around again in a few weeks, and will count on exercising then. when that does occur, what exercising should i do for someone who really hates to exercise? is tae bo and stationary bike good enough? i am desperate to lose this weight once and for all now that i'm hitting 50. boo hoo hoo. can someone please help me?
