Even when I allot 8 hours to sleeping, I always seem to wake up at least twice throughout the night to pee! So, I never seem to get 8 full hours, unfortunately!

I wish I did, but it doesn't work like that. Some days, I only sleep 5-6 hours, and some days I sleep 9. It just depends on multiple factors like stress, workload, diet, exercise, environment, etc.

I do not sleep straight through, either.
However, lately I've been getting up less frequently.
Perhaps I don't have as much pressure on my lungs or bladder or something since I've lost weight?

I struggle to sleep straight thru. I wake up every 2-3 hours to use the bathroom but generally go right back to sleep.

No, my sleep patterns vary considerably. I am working on getting at least eight hours of sleep a night, but for some reason meditation, prayer, relaxation...nothing works for me.

I am too positive to be doubtful, too optimistic to be fearful, and too determined to be defeated.

No negative thoughts allowed :)

I am a pretty good sleeper. I usually sleep 6.5-7.5 hours. I do sometimes have to get up to use the bathroom but usually go back to sleep easily. I am also a very heavy sleeper, DH will often talk about storms over night but I sleep right through them.

I've had insomnia for years now. I take Ambien each night just to be able to get to sleep. Once asleep, I MAY get up to 7 hours of sleep (including getting up to use the bathroom from all the water I drink during the day) before fully awakening again. I would really like to get 7-8 hours of decent, uninterrupted sleep. emoticon

I do, but I do get up to pee, usually about every 4 hours. I rarely have trouble going back to sleep. Do you turn a light on when you get up? I find leaving the light off and just having a night light in the hall helps. I also make sure not to "think" too much when I go to the bathroom. I don't start dwelling on things or getting my mind awake. i just focus on getting back to my cozy bed. it helps! Good luck!

On very rare occasions I sleep for a solid, uninterrupted 6-7 straight hours...but mostly I sleep in 3-4 hour snippets, waking up repeatedly each night, using the bathroom, going back to bed & hopefully falling asleep again.

Some nights I sleep a total of 7 hours on & off, and some nights I barely get 4 hours & wake up needing coffee, coffee & more coffee!

I was curious--how many people really sleep easily? And how many struggle to get a decent night of sleep?

It Is What It Is.... :)
