Yes Cherri, I do this, but no more than once a week, but I do it within reason.
What I do is 3 days before (preferably, but if a special dinner presents itself spur of the moment I do the following 3 days after) I eat on the low end of my calorie range, and pretty much "Bank" an extra 250 calories per day. This gives me about 750 extra calories for that meal, and I have figured out what my "maintenence" calories would be at my current weight- pretty much it's about 700 extra calories over the low end of my calorie range.
So I won't gain any weight from that meal and I will still lose weight becuase of the ccalorie deficit the other 6 days.
I also try to drink 2 extra glasses of water that day (total of 10) and Get more activity that day if possible.
I did this through the Holidays and have lost over 30 lbs since I started in October. I still had a Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas Dinner, News Year Dinner and have gone out to dinner a couple times.
My one other trick is that if I am invited out to dinner or to party with food, I eat a healthy snack before going- This allows tpo me to eat, but not Overeat or overindulge.
