They are once again selling that belt that you put around your waist and it shocks your abdominal muscles into toning. SMH

I really dislike them...they are unrealistic and make women feel as if they are 'less' of a person if they are not stick thin. Do you know that in LA they have a size called 00? Isn't that just awful? And the rest of the media follows...for example, it is just not normal for a woman to have a baby and lose all her baby weight in like six weeks...what kind of message does that put out there...I worry about our children...my niece is only 14 and consumed with her weight...a friend of mine has a daughter who is five who asked 'I am fat?' How sad is that? We are more than what we are on the outside...being healthy is most important. Who agrees?

I can't believe so many people buy into them! I'm most annoyed with the celebrities, and experts that endorse them. I've recently lost a good bit of weight and when people ask me how and I tell them, they act bummed! They almost seem to want me to say "I took this pill or had this procedure!" They aren't excited when I say I cut calories, keep a food log and walk 3 miles a day! That seems like too much work?

KKKaren was correct.
There have always been weight loss ads (all over the Internet, too). You just are noticing them more, because likely you know they are untrue - but wish that there was a "magic pill" to make it all happen quickly

those ads have always been around, I think we just notice them more now. I tend to ignore them, after all I know they don't work.

My favorite is the stuff you sprinkle on food and poof you get skinny ..... come on folks it's not magic fairie dust .... you have to excercise too ..... and if you look close a lot of the before and after pics look airbrushed ..... I wish I had an airbrush that made me instantly the way I want to be ....
The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential... these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.

I laugh at those ads to be honest. It seems like they play a lot of them during late night TV.

Those are for the gullible people. The ones that get me are the exercise machines where people say they have lost upteen pounds just by exercising. Science will tell you that is not possible. It is not until you get the machine home and actually watch or read about the item that it tells you that you have to follow an eating plan of some kind. Results are also atypical from the ones that you see on tv.

I guess I don't really pay attention to those adds. Now that I think about it they are kind of annoying...why don't they post adds about eating right and exercising more??

I would love to be able to go to the gym without walking 3 miles to the gym and 3 miles back. I really would love to have a tread climber. I get sick of the commercials. It frightens me that most meds are more dangerous than the illness.

DH & I are very amused by them. The latest, greatest supplement, diet or exercise. Happens every January. You'll see the same thing on a bit smaller scale (no pun intended) in the early spring - "get ready for swim suit weather!" if I could afford it I would LOVE to have a tread climber. I loved the one at the gym. But it did not last long at all, which leads me to believe they are not very well made. It wasn't as popular as the ellipticals, treadmills, and bikes. Lots less use and I don't think they held up much more than a year.

I watch with a small bit of amusement and a high degree of annoyance at all the "miracle" weight loss ads on tv nowadays. And this includes those "as seen on TV" exercise devices that are being hawked by buff, toned, fitness models. Fortunately, I've never been suckered into purchasing any of these products or "diets".

Hmmmm, at my highest weight, I was one of those people suckered in by those ads. I'd look forward to them arriving at my doorstep so I would begin to lose weight. Of course it would be another failed attempt. So Now I feel Sad when I watch them, others with a hopeful goal to lose weight taken advantage of by some greedy business to get rich off the backs of the overweight hopeing for that magic bullet or product.

Many people are looking for a quick fix. Especially this time of year. When I tell people I lost my weight exercising and making better food choices. They seem almost bummed out. It is like they want me to tell them. I lost weight by taking Magic Pill and lost 20 pounds in two days. It is like these gimmicky products are capitalizing on peoples vulnerabilities.
