When I started drinking more water I hated the taste of plain water. I used these little packets called TruLemon and TruLime. You can buy them in the grocery store and carry them with you like sugar packets. (and a little goes a long way). They may have the citric acid you refer to but I don't know to what degree. Now I prefer the plain water but that took a while. Additionally, I know some folks really enjoy cucumber slices in their water. Have fun with it - try what ever you think will help.
