Sometimes I just make a guess....if it's veggies or protein I am not as concerened. Fried foods and high carb and fat I feel it's better to keep a real close tab on those! Good Luck and God Bless you

I've done the generic "calorie" entry when I was at a social even that involved just a bunch of single bites of different kinds of food, where there was no way I could have properly accounted for each individual ingredient and measurement. It was a one-off event so it didn't hurt that I only really knew that I probably ate about 500 calories, but no knowledge of the breakdown beyond that.

The rest of the time, I agree with everyone else that there's value in analyzing what you're actually eating in regards to food groups and nutrients. It helped me a lot when I first started to see the value of different kinds of food to see how they compared to each other, and to look back and identify patterns and how certain foods made me feel.

Do something everyday that your future self will thank you for.

Its to easy to just count cals. I like this site because of breakdown of nutritional values Iwould like to shoot for 25 percent fat cals , Maybe I would be able to see my six pack that I haven't seen in 40 years

When all else fails.... exercise and prayer is the absolute

Actually, you can if you want to. Just create a custom food called "calorie," and log the appropriate number of servings. In other words, if you ate something that you know has 250 calories, you would call up that custom food and type in 250 for the number of servings.

The main problems with that are that, as the previous poster pointed out, you won't have any information about other nutrients, and also, you won't really have a record of *what* you ate. Most people find it very useful to be able to be able to look back and see, "Wow, it looks like I lost more weight last month when I ate so many vegetables than I did the month before when I was only getting one serving a day," and so forth. And the nutrient info is important. Just keeping track of calories is enough for some people to lose some weight, but most of us need to watch a few other nutrients to improve health and keep the weight off.

No, you can't. By entering food, you're able to see how balanced your diet is. Knowing how many grams of carbs, protein and fat you're consuming is just as important as knowing how many calories you consume.

Keep the faith.

A 30 minute workout is just 2% of your day.

"Wow, I really regret that workout.", said no one ever.

Losing weight is hard.
Maintaining weight is hard.
Staying overweight is hard.
You choose.
