They reported on the news today they extended the bill that keeps milk prices low until Oct 2013.

I hope that doesn't happen, but I guess it's like gas prices. There's nothing we can do about it, so we might just have to deal with it. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't happen though.

Farm bill passed. It will all be ok. Makes you think though, the price of milk is brought down by tax dollars. Could we all afford the milk and other things if the government does not hold the price down?

I haven't done dairy in over two years, so no concerns for myself here. but if you are going to complain about milk, you may as well just complain about all prices going up. We adjust. I remember when I first started to drive the gas prices were under $1 a gallon. Over the years, they went up. People complained, moaned and groaned, but they adjusted.

Forgot to say that I use coupons for things like almond milk so while it can be expensive, having a coupon and the store doubling it makes it much cheaper.

I heard that on the news. My family (meaning my kids and hubby) will have to get used to almond milk or another alternative if that happens. I personally think almond milk tastes great in cereal but they aren't ones to try new things.

I have not had milk since my state does not allow raw milk to be sold commercially. I do drink some when I am in farm country and I can get some raw milk, under the table of course.

Milk here in Canada has always been double or triple the price in the USA. It's about $5-$8 for 3 litres (which is approximately just under a gallon).

you'll still have to cope with new prices, if/when they occur
Stocking up will only last for so long, unless you buy tetra-packs (and even they don't last forever)

I guess people are missing this part of the article:
"Bozic isn't worried though, he says milk buyers shouldn't worry, either. He doesn't expect prices to go up for months, if they go up at all."

There is a chance that the prices of milk might possibly go up a bit in a couple months. No one is saying it is going to double/triple.

The article is pure conjecture and says:
"Fluid milk prices in retail stores would increase from an average of $3.30 to $5 per gallon,"

That is no where near the "milk prices to double or triple!!!!!!!!!!!!!" as the OP states.

I heard if the fiscal cliff doesn't get fixed the price of milk will more then double first of the year, buy some milk before hand I know I'm gonna get a gallon the night before even if I have a gallon in there
