I am back at the pool, for water aerobics emoticon and also back to walking the bush trails. It is so beautiful out, lovely and mild. At the moment I've calmed down, some and hope to keep on..not letting "things" get to me. emoticon

I joined a team with the goal of trying something new every week of the year, so that's my short term goal for each week. Middle term is to do a 5K this summer to celebrate my 60th birthday. Long term is to continue to maintain within a 5-pound range of my goal weight.

I'd like to not just try, but to stick with a fun workout routine. I just started Turbo Jam and feel really energized. By August, I'd like to fit comfortably into a size 14 when I go wedding dress shopping. (just a size down, but it's what I'm working towards)

Remember... nothing tastes as good as healthy feels.

1. Avoid Fast Food at all costs(no more McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, Wendy's, etc.) If I absolutely must eat at one of those places for whatever reason then I will pick the HEALTHIEST thing on the menu. Hoping this helps the budget as well.

2. Drink my 8 cups of water every day

3. Eat a healthy breakfast everyday (I never eat breakfast and I think it's really doing me in)

4. Get in at least 30 minutes of some sort of physical activity at least 3 days (or more) a week.

Small changes....add up to big results!

I would like to get to the point where my ab muscles show. I'm going to be 50 in March so I hope this is achievable. As I'm getting older I really find that I would like to get in better and better shape. I guess it is my way of fighting to stay young. Don't want to be old & flabby. emoticon

read 1 book a week (52 books a year)


reintroduce non-water based exercises


regain my standing endurance (to where i can stand in place with no back pain)


regain my walking endurance (to where I can walk for 30 mins without needing to sit down due to back pain)



To do some form of movement that would be considered fitness based daily as i would love to do a 365 days in a row fitness streak like Mostmom1 on sparks did. Even when i am at work I can do something.





To change my attitude about asking questions/and my tendancy to just assume things.





To become more social(less introverted) when i am around people i do not know very well. Bacially become less private and closed off to people in general....get out of my shell LOL





Laugh outloud more. Find humor in stupid commercials etc. Choose fun/positive tv shows more often and less things that bring me down......watch less of the filled with bad news kind of programming for a change.

Get back to averaging more than 7000 steps daily (includes remembering the pedometer, and not washing it again). Add some upper body strengthening exercise and some core exercise to counter my bone issues.

My goal for 2013 is first to stay on track. I am going to read my Bible more, go to church more, pray more. I AM GOING to meet my weight loss goal. I want to find a better job. I am going to support my husband and my children.
