People have left candy for me on my workstation. I promptly put it in a breakroom in another department witha note :Happy Holidays, please enjoy!

Then last week was my work party and we exchanged a secret Santa gift and I got lots of chocolate. I gave it to another co-worker, because my fiance is trying to eat better too, and one day I brought home some chocolates to give to y mom and he ate a big Ghiradelli bar one night.

I try to make sure I have lots of healthy snacks so I am not hungry and don't overindulge in candies and treats.

It's much easier to say no when I am not hungry.
Lisa

I wrap a plate to take home, but I don't. I donate it to the receptionist or the security guards who usually can't get away to attend the party.

I spent the better part of my childhood being bullied. I can't imagine how people think it's ok. Hold your ground and always come to your Spark friends for support!

thank you. People ARE mean. I've never figured out why, and I probably never will, but you're right.

Hahaha I really want to come to your work and put those people in their place!! Don't cave and definitely don't give them the satisfaction. People are just mean. I must say, while my office won't go so far as to say it to my face, I'm positive they will say something behind my back if I gain weight. But that's what I get for working with all women. Very catty.

lol! If I had any guts, mine would probably go something like this, "no, I don't want any, cause I don't want to give you the pleasure of telling me I'm fat two weeks from now. Oh, and another thing, the next time you smack your lips right in front of me, I'm gonna punch you out!!"

Exactly!! I feel like I need to tape record my response and just hit play anytime someone asks me about turning down those foods. It would probably go something like, "Yes I feel fine. No I'm not allergic to them. I just don't want any junk!!"

I love when people give you a look like you're insane for not wanting to eat that stuff. I hate that I have to feel bad about turning people down but they clearly don't understand what I'm trying to accomplish.

I think it's happening everywhere! I had a doughnut hand-delivered to me this morning at 7:20! I adjusted my meals for the day, but I still have to walk by the box every time I refill my water! My weakness is chocolate not doughnuts, so I'm doing okay for now.

Haha I like that imagery! I just try to think of the other people eating them and the bad things they are ingesting. Makes me want to be better for myself.

when those homemade goodies get too tempting, just picture the person who baked them leaving the bathroom without washing their hands. Or sneezing on the batter. Crude, but it works.

I sit here looking at the platter of cookies sitting on the counter steps away from my desk.... So far I have avoided them, but I'm always stronger in the morning, so will see what happens this afternoon!

Between the office parties and goodies from patients. I have been strong so far. Yesterday, we received 5 lbs of truffles. Chocolate, my nemesis!! Ok, Ok, I did have one and it was so yummy, I did not go near it again. Portion and self control.

My boss has a giant candy bowl (yes a bowl, not a dish) in her office year round. Willpower should be rewarded. Preferably with cash incentives.

A bakery just delivered a pecan pie and a strawberry rhubarb pie. We gave the pecan pie to our financial CEO because it is her birthday today. The other is here for our lunch!!

@TurtlesDove That's terrible!! More proof some men are complete jackasses. I hope you tell them off one day.

@ Obiesmom2 Good thing your boss took them home. I know if I have just one donut hole then I'm going to go eat the rest of them when no ones looking. Terrible sugar addiction but if I don't have any then I'm ok. Just gotta keep up the willpower to steer clear!

it's not just you. Every year around this time, my female co-workers bring in homemade goodies. Not to mention the male co-workers waving it in my face. "Oh, Amy, these are so good" as they bite into them. Two weeks later they are telling me that I have gained weight. This really happens. One day I'm gonna grow some you know what and tell them what I really think of them. I've decided that I'm going to eat what I want to and get back on track after Christmas. This is too much stress on me and I don't want to be miserable while everyone else is enjoying their cookies and cake and crap!

So here we are, a week and a half before Christmas. Though it's still so far away (ha!) food festivities are in full swing here in my office. I'm lucky that I have my own office away from the cubes to keep my distance. However, the conversation here NEVER stops being centered around food! Is anyone experiencing this office insanity or it just my office full of crazy, cheesecake obsessed women?
