Hoping to keep my losing streak going by running in a Turkey Trot in the morning, and watching my portions for dinner!

We are going to my daughter's home because my oven is too small for a turkey. It will be a traditional dinner with all the sides. I am planning on eating a light breakfast and lunch, then eat small portions for dinner. I am also planning on taking a long walk to burn some extra calories.

My momma and I are making our Thanksgiving goodies just her, my dad, and myself. I have always enjoyed our time in the kitchen for Thanksgiving. It's the only time she'll let me in there with her! =P I’m planning to have a small (dessert size?) plate with anything I want and won’t feel guilty about it. I’ll try to have mostly veggies, of course, but I’m definitely having some turkey dressing and broccoli casserole! I’m going to have one slice of pumpkin pie, and then I’m done. My plan is to work out in the gym today thru Wednesday, and then go for long walks Thursday thru Sunday. I am determined to reach my goal of losing 2+ this week, even if it is Thanksgiving!

We don't have any. I have to work that night, so we can't go to my family...and my husband's family "isn't interested" in getting together. I have to try to think of something- since I'll be sleeping all day. Anybody know any easy slow-cooker turkey or ham recipes?
This is for me...

Going to my mother in laws and then my mom's family gathering. I best watch out my food intake! Also, I have promised I'd go to the gym for 1 hour every day this week.

I'll be cooking for about 10. That's a small Thanksgiving for us. First year my son won't be there :( but hopefully we can talk with him during the day. Still looking forward to a great Thanksgiving!

My daughter does the cooking and cleaning for Thanksgiving. We do the eating and leaving LoL I will work out Thursday and Friday for 2 hours each day (extended work out for me) and have as much turkey as I desire. I will lay low on the 'tatoes and other starches. I will have a glass of wine (or 2...or 3...LoL). My daughter makes a killer cheesecake and I intend to sample it, with the coffee later in the day. I also plan to stay off the scale from Thursday through the weekend. We will see what Monday brings.

Going to the inlaws - love them, but everything is fatty. Plan on eating before I go so I won't stuff myself. My Type 2 diabetes will keep me away from the desserts. Best of luck everyone, I too, count my blessings!

Since Thanksgiving was originally a 3-day feast with the Indians and Pilgrims, we are also celebrating on Friday and Saturday. Thursday is turkey with the in-laws. I bring the pies (pumpkin, pecan, blueberry) and steamed vegetables. MIL usually has lightened stuffing along with rolls, plain mashed potatoes and gravy. Friday is Thanksgiving at home with lobster tails and spiral ham, corn bread and different steamed vegetables. A different pie and fresh fruit. :D Saturday is microwave day, and freezer stash day. I have always wanted to make cauliflower mash. Do you have the recipe?
My Inspiration comes from Kill Bill 2: Pai Mei: [punches through a block of wood from three inches away] Since your arm now belongs to me, I want it strong. Can you do that? The Bride: I can, but not that close. Pai Mei: Then you can't do it. What if your enemy is three inches in front of you, what do you do then? Curl into a ball? Or do you put your fist through him?

As I am on the HCG diet, my Thanksgiving plans for myself differ from that of my family. I'm having Shallot Chicken with Cauliflower Mash, and a Baked Apple Pumpkin Spice dish for dessert!

Cooking for the family, relaxing, trying not to over eat. :) I'm trying some new strategies this year as I tend to sample too much while making the meal. This blog has some good tips that I'm going to try. www.urgravity.com/Blogs/ I'll let you know after the holidays how it went.

To stay busy so I don't focus too much attention on eating...my plan is to eat slowly, savor every bite, stop when starting to fill up...also: *to do turkey trot (exercise!) *to serve healthier appetizers (shrimp cocktail & smoked salmon!) *to have turkey dinner at restaurant (no leftovers!) *to watch football (fun!)

Pumpkin soup for lunch and for dinner-Roast turkey and gravy, cornbread dressing, baked mac and cheese (with wheat noodles, I think), greens with smoked turkey instead of hamhocks, garlic and herb mashed potatoes, and sweet potatoes.

Hosting the dinner for the first time since my divorce. Everyone's coming, including the kids, the grand kids the ex and the ex in-laws. So much for "low stress holiday" ;-) Everyone is pitching in with different elements of the dinner and my contribution is Stuffed Pumpkin, a vegitarian receipe, which I found on Spark!

We will be with Number 4 son and his family here in AZ. Not sure if the older granddaughter will be there as she is always on the road for Budweiser. She is a field marketing ambassador for them and hits all the big events around the country.
