Seven weeks ago I had serious foot surgery, I have been struggling because I cant exercise and I dont want to gain a pound of weight of the eighty pounds i have lost back. Last week 11/3 I had gained four pounds although i knew it was mostly fluid and medicine complications it was still disheartening . In the past this would have been where i threw up my hands and said oh well this is over . But instead I looked at all my choices and exercises i could do . I devised a new menu and worked a exercise plan that would get me better results with less pain and when I weighed on 11/10 I had lost 5.2 pounds . That for me lets me know that I am making the change of life not just dieting.

Today I walked from the car into a friends apartment with only my cane, not the wheelchair! And it was easier coming up the stairs when I came home! emoticon

Yesterday I went to a shower and the table was set with ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL kinds of goodies, I ate apple slices w/o dipping sauce had some dip without the chips, weighted today and when I started I was at 265/266 or so today I was at 262 in the morning and at 4:08 that's a big thing for me. Since I have stayed at 266 for about 1 year, After my dh heart thing.

Last night I ate a nice and healthy salad instead of the garlic pasta my husband made. It's so yummy, but really not good for me. And it was ok... I didn't feel deprived...and I think THAT"S what I am proud of.

This thread makes me feel very emotional. So happy for those of you who have something to share, and so sad that there are some of you who can't think of anything to be proud of.

You are here; therefore you are taking steps to become healthy. The first step is the hardest and you have done it. THAT is something to be proud of!

As for me, a spark friend suggested I put cans in a bag and weight them so I can feel how much weight I've lost. Today I did it, and discovered I've lost five 14-oz. cans of pumpkin. And that's only 6 pounds!!! When I reach my goal I should have several shopping bags full. :)

I felt soooo proud after passing the 200 pound mark, I did a naked dance around the scale and made a promise to myself that I was never going back there again!!! emoticon

Today - I've lost 42 lbs and my winter coat had to be pulled up over my bottom so I could zip it. Well today I wore it for the first time this winter and I didn't have to pull it up first to zip it.

Two weeks ago I ran my first half marathon(13.2miles) in 2:02:50. I shaved off over twenty minutes from practice runs! My pace was 9:23 min/mile. This was even faster than most of my 5k paces. I am extremely proud of myself! emoticon Unfortunately, I gained about ten pounds while training for the half marathon. I just felt hungry all the time and ate things I normally wouldn't eat. But I got on track again three days ago.

Last night when I ate my homemade vegetable soup with chicken thighs. Drinking my water.

If you go by the way side on an eating bing, just get up and start again. I always say I will be on a diet for the rest of my life because I love food. But since Spark People I can eat the right foods and not get out of control. Keep up the good work no matter what people say about you. Love yourself. Do it for yourself and no one else. This keep me going.

tonight when I went out to dinner with my recovery coach and I was able to eat a healthy meal, enjoy the experience and be free from my eating disorder during the meal. HUGE victory there. and the food was really yummy!! had a turkey burger with pineapple and avocado and a side of grilled asparagus.

I don't remember being proud of myself, but i am incredibly proud when I'm out somewhere with my son and daughter - I'm very proud of them and the wonderful people they have become. And since I raised them alone, I guess I'm proud for doing such a great job! :)

I switched from working out at night after the kids went to bed, to morning before everyone woke up. What a difference! I feel fabulous! I am not a morning person AT ALL, and I did it! I feel so good I don't want to screw it up by eating bad things!

I want to feel everyday the way I do after I work out, proud and happy!
