I started immediately with small 10 min sessions at least once per day. Now, I am up to a minimum of 30 min per day, but usually I am in the 45 to 60 min range! YEAH!!!

I was searching the net for free exercise videos- Spark People was the very first choice in the search engine (Google). I started exercising right away! First I was going to do an exercise video, but when I realized I can sign up and track my record I decided to do that first- then get my sweat on. :)

right away, but only 60-120 mins a week. I've been focusing on that more than the nutrition right now. Getting moving has been my big challenge

The first time around I started immediately. I went hard into it with the exercise and diet. I got great results in 3 months but burned myself out. I got so sick of having to wake up early and workout. I stopped completely.

The second time I took it easy and got even better results because I actually enjoyed what I did and took my time making sure I was always making healthier decisions without forcing myself to eat or exercise.

You definitely have to start slow and find something you enjoy, otherwise you're going to be miserable and the journey won't be as exciting as it should be.

You are so near your goal! I know the last two pounds can be the hardest because they are JUST 2 pounds. Keep up the positive attitude and remember to work on maintenance after you achieve your goal. Wow, way to go!

Aaargh. I joined one month ago. Did a little walking but not daily. I just saw the ten minute challenge. I can easily do that!! AND I will buy a pedometer by Monday. Actually I stopped at a store today to buy the Fitbit but they did not have any. No pedometers at all. And I did search my bedroom for an old one...but couldn't find any....so the motivation is in Start Mode ! Great topic !

I've always done some sort of exercise over the years. I don't know how many remember jazzercise but if you know then you know how long I have been at it. Anyway I never tracked my food or activity but I find that I actually look forward to entering the day's information.

Had been exercising before joining for quite some time- 34 years as a runner including a marathon and several half marathons. But last 7 months (since joining) have been very consistent and have benefited much from the trackers and overall site.

I began the day I started using the 10 minutes. It is easy to get in 10 minutes. Just built up and am building up slowly as my body can tolerate it. Now, I get in at least an hour a day of some form of excercise. I've taken Sunday's off to rest my body.

same day. the 10 min challenge has been my fallback plan... no matter what kind of day it's been no matter how tired I am or how late it is, I can do 10! When I had a handle on getting the pattern down of "every day do something", I signed up for the 30 min cardio/4x a week as well.

I exercised the same day I signed on due to the 10 min challenge. It allowed me to ease in. I found that I soon started exercsing 10 minutes 2-3 times per day. Now when I fall off the exercise wagon I just tell myself to start again with 10 minutes and it gets me going again.

It took me over a wk to get started with exercise and it didnt become a habit until I bought a c .d player and head phones. It makes using my treadmill enjoyable. I felt rediculous when I read have u done 10 min of exercise and I had a treadmill in my basement. The request for just 10 min helped me get stared and now Im up to 25 min. now.

I found it all overwhelming at first, so I focused on eating within my calorie ranges for two weeks. That let me get a feel for the site, and let me get a sense of how many calories were right for me. After that, I worked one day of exercise in for two weeks, and then two, and then three...etc!

I have been exercising on and off since 1981. But my weight goes up and down...now I have limitations on what I can do at the gym due to health issues. This is a permanent issue. So I am hoping that with this tool I will be able to lose the weight and keep it off.

This site actually motivated me to start walking, I can keep up with calories burned. I also cut my grass with a push mower and that burns a lot of calories, but I only do that every other week. I like walking, but I don't like to walk alone, today I took my dog, and he is stopping to pee every few minutes, and messing up my heart rate, but I"m thankful I have him, because I'm a little afraid to walk alone. Koodoo to Leo my little chichiua, Of course he gets plenty of water before and after and we are only gone for 20 minutes.

I started the treadmill and my exercise blog, www.loseweightwithbeverage.blogspot.com, in the same month that I started WW's last August. That lasted four months until I stopped working out and writing about it for nine months. WW's became too expensive earlier this year, so I found SparkPeople! I just got back on the treadmill yesterday and blogged about it today. I am happy to say I plan on going tomorrow as well.

I came back a ligttle over a week ago and exercising is my challenge. I am out of shape and could not exercise for a while and its hard to restart. I have started walking and doing some stretches and light weights but am focusing more on calories and the quality of the food I am eating. I have already greatly improved my diet and that is actually easier to me than exercising.

As long as you are going in a positive direction just set your own pace.

I started working out right away because that was one of the struggles I had: I couldn't balance real exercise with good eating practices, and one without the other probably won't work for the long term. So, because I was on vacation when I started (don't ask why), I started small with 30 minute walks. Once I got home, my husband put my bike in my office, and I started going back to my gym. I started with 30 minutes of cardio and now do about 75 minutes of cardio and 25 to 30 minutes of weights about three times a day and 45 of cardio the other two days. I also play way more actively with my kid which was one of my other goals. It seems like a lot, but after a while, your body needs it. I also rest when I'm wiped out from work, or I cut down a bit, but I always hit my minimum fitness minutes for the week.

This is an easy one to answer--I was exercising before I started, I'd had some major problems and was in physical therapy. I needed something to help me keep track... SP tools are terrific! It took me a while to get the TRACKING started... LOL
emoticon

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." Walter P. Chrysler said it, I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steadfast... and that works too! LOL

Life comes in specific increments, which we receive as a gift of one moment at a time. That's why it's called the PRESENT!
