I was also very afraid to go to the store and try on smaller size. I was afraid that the smaller size would not fit even though I lost the weight and should be in that size!! I was afraid that I would be disappointed at the store. It was so good though to shop for smaller size and seeing that they fit.

Yesterday I was in a 5 km race and when registering the man at the desk handed me medium T shirt and said this is probably your size !! I was XL last year and it felt like he was making fun of me handing me this medium T shirt. You know what it fitted perfectly :-)

Iceland - time zone is GMT

My goals are to:
* workout minute of 1000 for the month
* Menu of the week
* blog 2-3 times pr week

No, not weird. You are not in a comfort zone yet! Try shopping second hand shops! Go check out TUBLADY blogs on dressing second hand and you will have a course in how to do it!
Good Luck!

I'm struggling with clothes issues now, too. There are lots of issues -- old clothes too big, hesitant to spend money, not sure what looks good, afraid of gaining weight back, etc.

My biggest problem is that I am having trouble finding clothes that fit well. I've not only lost a size, but the shape of my body has changed. So the brands and styles that I used to wear don't "fit right" on my body -- even if I try the smaller size.

I'm struggling to find things that work well for me and it's definitely not as fun as I thought it would be.

How about getting a dress that can be adjusted to fit by adding various belts. If you get it to fit at the newest weight, you can adjust it by belting it along the way. emoticon

Congrats! I'd buy something on sale to help you get through. Are you planning to lose more weight? IF so, the one pair is all I'd buy!

It's NOT weird @ all - our bodies are strange & wonderful all at the same time. There are times when our bodies shape up more than the scale shows!!! How great is that!

Enjoy the loss of the pounds & the pants!

Sherli

Have an awesome day!

I don't think that's weird. I think sometimes our bodies change faster than our minds can.

I second the motion regarding thrift stores. I found a great woolrich winter coat for $12 at the Salvation army store in town, this past winter. I expect I will be back there this winter due to weight loss. Don't forget garage sales too. You can find tide you over clothes that are real inexpensive.

The journey is as important as the goal.

It doesn't sound weird at all! But it's good to have clothes that fit, so maybe buy a couple new items. You can get things really cheap at a thrift store or outlet stores.

No, not weird at all. I too think you might want to buy just a few things in the new size. This will make it more real for you. Congratulations!!

If you aren't at your goal yet, you probably don't want to buy a whole new wardrobe, but you need to have at least a couple outfits that fit you properly.

Go for a few new things then wait. You don't want to be looking less than your best after earning where you are.

I felt the same way when it happened but then I went and tried on everything I had and it was all looking bad on me. I went out and bought a few new things and was amazed at how much better clothes that fit looked! I was also amazed at the size because it had been several years since I had seen that size. I'm not two sizes down and no longer afraid to buy new things but I'm trying to not go crazy because I'm not at my goal yet. It just feels so good to wear a smaller size and look better too!

I was terrified, but I pulled out the swim suits from last year and they were all too big. Especially in the bust area lol. I don't have a big bust, but I have the hips and rear so everything was always big on top because I need it to fit around my mid section. I fell in love with this tankini top and it was only an XL my mom said, try it on you never know. I was so scared..........guess what.....it FITS!!!!!!! Try it on, you might be surprised is now my motto.

I'm in the same boat. Bought a couple of new things so I wouldn't look so "baggy" at work. Just a little taste to keep me on track!!

get a couple of new outfits but don't spend too much if you're not at your goal weight yet.

No. At least not in my books.
I don't want to invest in new clothes, only to have them go to waste (or waist, as the case may be) if I lose or gain.

Sometimes I see it through by taking in the waistband with a dart or two, or wearing a belt, if it doesn't make them too bulky.

I try to wait until I really cannot "make do" any longer

I am in unfamiliar territory- I dropped a full pants size, but am hesitant to buy new clothes.I don't think I'm concerned that I'll go back up, I guess I'm concerned I'm foooling myself that I truly am ready to buy a smaller size.

Is that weird?
