Motivation for eating organic is keeping my liver healthy so I can stay on my rheumatoid arthritis meds.

Motivation for exercise is to regain the strength and stamina rheumatoid arthritis has stolen from me.

Motivation to lose weight is to lower my risk of heart disease. Rheumatoid arthritis raises my risk to the same level as a man. Also to take stress off my diseased joints.

I fell off the bandwagon when I took over a different store last year. But I remembered how great I felt, all the weight I lost, and hope not to offend anyone here but even the sex life was like 10x better. I didn't totally gain all the weight back but I did gain and I let the stress of building another store up get to me and took to eating. So now a year later I'm back on, not just for myself but also for the health of the ones I love dearly. My husband and brother who lives with me have followed same plan and both need to shed also so it's become a family affair. And one last motivator is my grandson who's 3. Me being 41 I should be doing more with him and all those beach trips. Time to step it up and get my game on again!

My motivation is my health and my daughter. I NEED to get my cholesterol down and my weight --- just tired of feeling tired, sore kneed, and lumpy. And I want to be a good role model for my daughter. She should know what health looks and tastes like; reasonably fit and lots of fresh, single ingredient foods.

I can and I will.

I suffer from chronic pain and can not work due to other issues. My weight is over a lot sure. I finally have the mind set to lose the weight to take the poundsoff now. But it is a challenge to exercise with my mobility issues. I just keep working at it this site is great. They have a lot of different choices in the exercises that are geared toward people with disabilities. Right on!

My biggest motivation is how great I feel when I'm exercising and eating right. I have more energy, look better in clothes, and even my skin looks and feels healthier. I am 41 years old and currently have 30 pounds to lose, but I'm not just dieting (not eating). I am eating healthy and at 3 hour intervals while also strength training and getting plenty of walking in. I do not think everyone realizes how much strength training improves your overall body image as you get older. It helps keep you tone and looking fit. Anybody can lose weight, but I'm always impressed when I read success stories of women over 40 that are also gaining muscle (instead of losing it). I am very motivated to get in shape and stay in the best shape I can the older I get. Most people are afraid of aging. I find it to be a challenge that I embrace and I say "bring it on!". Oh, LOL, and knowing that I may only live once and this life time of mine may not be a dress rehearsal.

My motivation is to stay healthy, active and upbeat as I age...to REALLY enjoy the rest of my life, to be a fun and positive life partner for my husband, to have energy and confidence to parent my children well and set a good example for them, and most of all, to feel good--physically, mentally, emotionally!

Wow, what a great question. As a very motivated individual, I like getting things done and being done with it! Unfortunately, I am not able to work so my motivating comes from 1-sharing my goals and beliefs with others, 2-volunteering where I feel I can do the most good.
3-Helping others less fortunate than myself. 4-trying to lose weight, get in shape and STAY THAT WAY! I have tried just about every dieT there is; and it works while I am working it; but fails when I "give up". Since my motivation comes from getting things done; things sometimes never get done and I get more frustrated and aggreviated. It is a vicious circle. day in day out, try to get enough sleep, try to eat the right foods. try to help others, try to keep the family together without too many arguments and hate and resentment. FORGIVENESS is easy; but FORGETTING is not. Why is it when you are down and out; you remember only the bad things that happened to you. When you are as high as a kite; the world is your rollar coaster!
But at 56, rollar coasters are NOT so much fun anymore either. without being strapped in; what was once fun; becomes fearful.and painful. Anyway, I guess I have made a short story long, my MOTIVATION IS TO HELP OTHERS THAT ARE LESS FORTUNATE THAN MYSELF.

My motivation is to increase my self esteem. I tend to believe that when I am not in good shape, that I am somehow defective and it affects my relationship. I reject myself and to project this rejection to my spouse. This attitude clouds my ability to feel lovable amd that sucks!

I love to read what motivates others. That gives me ideas about what I haven't thought of. I do find it hard to motivate myself to excercise alone. Anybody got any ideas for that?

Motivation is like the sea, it comes in and it goes out. The trick, I find, is to realize that none of us are perfect and if you can find a kind word for a friend then why not for yourself...Plus my grand daughter keeps me going. She 11 and full of life and love and kindness. She is a real inspiration for me.

I love to see the scale move, I love to feel my clothes loosen, I love to hear the compliments as I get fit... but my biggest motivation is my mom. Because I started down this healthier path she is following and I rejoice in seeing her eat healthier and be more active. My Dad passed away 2 years ago and she felt like there was too much she could never do again and for the first time she is really trying!! (and succeeding) with Sparkpeople. I am so proud of her and it keeps me motivated!! Thanks Mom!!

My motivations are: My son - he's getting increasingly hard to keep up with. I don't want him to keep me out of breath all the time! And the numbers. I love trying to get my nutrition numbers to hit RDA and my fitness numbers to reach the goals I set. (And, hopefully soon, watch the needle on the scale edge downward.) It's like a video game, but in real life.

To have more energy and not feel tired all the time and not having the energy to do the things I want. Thankfully I have achieved that but it keeps me going as over eating makes me feel sluggish and tired. As I get older I also want to ensure I have many years left but I want them to be healthy ones that I can enjoy!

Motivation....hmmmm....

My motivation is:
Being able to stand at the sink and wash dishes without having to sit down after 10 minutes because my back hurts so bad.
Being able to bend over and scratch my dog's tummy (her favorite scratch place)
Being able to stare down a piece of chocolate cake, or whatever, and make it feel bad :)
Being able to work out, and move on to the next level because what I'm doing now is too easy.

Oh yeah, and the pair of waist-size-30 jeans staring at me from the chair in my bedroom.

My motivation would be just to feel good again. I am tired of pain and feeling like a big blob. It is hard to get up in the morning and get dressed for work everyday when you feel crappy. I want the look I had a few years back. I felt better and I felt better about myself.

Starting out slow, will work hard to increase each month!

Being with my sisters. They all look great. They all have said the same thing. When you reach a certain age the pounds come on a lot easier and come off a lot harder. It is time to make the change. I needed to do this 6 years ago. I am now trying to make the change. It is hard but I want to look and feel better.

My motivation is that I will not buy another pair of jeans in this size so I have worn them everyday and am so very sick of them. They are actually starting to wear out.

My short-term motivation is my son's wedding on June 23rd. My medium motivator is to get back again into lower clothes sizes, and my long-term motivator is to be healthy enough that my knees don't hurt from arthritis and my diabetes stays under great control with diet and exercise.

What I do about my weight expresses how I feel about myself and my relationship with my Lord right now.

Fitting into smaller sizes.

Give up everything you love, and everything that tastes good = weight loss! Simple as that!

I have so much more energy to get through the day after my morning walk. I find I approach my work day with a much better attitude.

My motivation is a pair of jeans that I used to wear before I had my daughter. I've lost sight of them many times. I've come to realize though that I'm not going to be able to wear them again if I don't put forth the effort. I've put them in a place where I can see them everyday.
