Honestly? I prefer NO scale. But since you asked... ;) I'd go with digital. I don't trust the bodyfat part of the digital scales though. They can be off by quite a bit. Good luck!

I use both...the digital always says I weigh more by at least 1-2 lbs!

I had trouble reading my old, old analog scale and got a digital one. It only read "even pounds" so a couple years ago I got a digital that reads .2 of a pound. I LOVE IT! I don't think I'll go back.

I prefer digital scales because you can get a readout to 0.1 or 0.2 lb, whereas with an analogue scale, I could spend too long trying to decide whether the needle is at a half-pound, quarter-lb, etc. Moving an analog scale could also affect the reading, so regardless of what type of scale you are using, you'll want to place it on a flat, hard surface. I've played with scales on carpeting and have gotten all sorts of strange readings.

I've found that our analog scale's needle sticks giving a 5# discrepancy.

I only use my digital scale. When I do weigh myself, I weigh two or three times in a row to make sure it says the same thing each time before I log that weight. It seems to be very accurate

I prefer the digital scale, it can measure by the ounce. Analog cant do that and it can get discouraging when you think the scale is not moving

Digital. But, honestly, a tape measure and a quick check on how you're feeling is probably the best measure (and you never have to replace the batteries :D)

I have a digital and find it's a little annoying the way it can bounce around no matter what. Like yesterday It said I was 126.8 and today 129....did I actually gain 3 lbs overnight...NOPE. But that's what it does...bounce around. So I am very interested in seeing the answers to see if one is better then the other.

I use a video game system to measure my weight! I also have an analog "stand on it and look down" type in the bathroom for "quick checks", but it's very old and a little off. I would think a digital scale would be more accurate, but I have never gotten the hang of the doctor's office type where you slide the bars and then get a reading.

I prefer a digital scale if I can trust it to be accurate. I do understand what you are talking about. I have a Weight Watchers Scale and it seems to work great if I step on it once in the morning. But oddly, I can put on clothes/shoes that would weigh more than a pound more and if I step on again, it will say the same as before the added weight. The same goes for taking off heavy clothing. I don't know why but it seems the scale has a "memory" and wants to repeat the first reading, if you step on again within a few minutes' time.

I currently have a digital scale, but am considering going back to an analog one. With the digital, if I slide it a few inches to the left or right, the read out changes and I just don't feel like I am getting accurate enough readings. Maybe I just have a crappy scale, idk. Which do you prefer and why?
You get whatever you settle for.
