I will be counting it if I brew it at home, so it isn't loaded with sugars, etc.

I count it, but I drink plain unsweetened tea. I HATE plain water; I think I have had maybe a couple glasses of plain water in the last 10 years. If it didn't count, I'd probably be dead of dehydration.

I've seen experts express opinions both ways. I don't know the answer, but I do know that I don't count anything as water except water. I don't flavor it either. I like it as it is, and that is how I drink it. One cup of water on the rocks, please! :)

Any liquid can be counted. Liquid is liquid. Even coffee with caffeine is counted as a liquid. I count my teas, crystal light sugar free iced teas, water, broths. They are all counted in my book because they are liquids.

Yes, the latest studies show that all liquids count AND we don't need 8 glasses of water per day. As long as you're not experiencing thirst, you're hydrated.

I agree with this: "It is a myth that you need to drink an additional 64 ozs of water per day to be healthy. Most of our fluid needs are met by our food intake."

I drink plenty of coffee, soda, herbal tea throughout the day and rarely drink water. I believe if you drink something when you are thirsty, then you get enough water. I do feel I am spoiled in preferring these other water-drinks with added chemicals and flavorings, but that is how it is, and that is how I get my water. I do realize caffeine causes some of the water to pass through, but not all of it and again, if you continue to drink when thirsty, you will still get enough water overall, whether some has caffeine in it, or not.

Anything that is liquid at body temperature is counted as a liquid. Clear liquids such as water, coffee or tea, are counted as water. Full liquids are soups, ice cream, pudding etc.

It is a myth that you need to drink an additional 64 ozs of water per day to be healthy. Most of our fluid needs are met by our food intake.

Drink when you feel thirsty.

Do a web search asking "How much water do I need to drink to be healthy?" You will be amazed at the answers.

I'm an RN. At hospitals we call it fluids and all fluids count. If someone is on fluid restrictions due to cardiac or kidney issues coffee and tea counts just like water and soft drinks. In dieting this has always been a gray area so it counts if you are comfortable with it and does not count if you are not comfortable with it - a very personal choice. This is what I like about Sparks - it gives you freedom to make that choice. In fact a Spark coach in one of the videos stated that you can count watermelon as a fluid if you wish because it is packed with fluids. I have yet to give somebody a cup of coffee in lieu of Lasix to relieve fluid overload; and yes, coffee drinkers do have fluid retention also - proving it is not a real diuretic.

No. Water is Water. If you were monitoring your liquid intake you would count all liquids consumed. But, if you are monitoring your Water intake, all you count is water.
