I love "Spa Treatments"... but only on special occassions and rewards for me. Sometimes, my reward is just spending time in a bubble bath or extra "me" time.

I just started my diet last week and since we don't have much money, I promised myself I would treat myself to a dollar amount reward once a month equal to my weight loss for the month. So whatever the amount of weight I lose in a month, my reward is equal value, it can be earrings, clothing, anything non food. I will treat myself to something very nice when I reach the halfway mark, then my goal weight.

I reward myself with something small every 5 pounds I lose, like a magazine subscription, or a small amount of money to spend at my favorite store. When I hit my goal weight I am going to buy some clothes!

When I quit smoking, I started putting the money that I would have spent on ciggs into an envelope. I don't know for sure what I'm saving for, but I figured it was good to quantify the money I saving on top of better health!

For February and March, I'm reward myself with $20 per week that I meet my fitness goals. My goals and rewards will change month to month, but for now getting into a good fitness routine is my main focus.

If I don't find anything else to spend it on, this will make a nice trip or new wardrobe when I meet my weight goals!

I have HAD to buy all new clothes periodically as I've lost weight, and all new shoes because my shoe size changed as well. So that's not exactly a reward since it was unavoidable, but it sure has been fun!

So I guess my reward is going to Jackson Mississippi to march in the Sweet Potato Queens Parade every year! It's just a few weeks away and I am just giddy about it. I have all my outfits ready with the exception of a few accessories that need to be added (feather boas, fishnet tights).

I've gotten some things like exercise apparel, socks ect; But the one main thing I've been waiting for is the Woo-Hoo tee shirt. Because that is my saying!Lol! I said when I weighed in under 150 lbs, that shirt is mine! I am under 150 now but I want to make sure it is a steady under 150! So I guess when the scale says 147, I'll get the shirt!emoticon

When I came back to SparkPeople in February, after back surgery in October, I won 10,000 SparkGoodies on the Points Wheel. Besides giving other 'Sparkers' Goodies, I reward myself with a Goody when I achieve a small goal. When I achieve medium to larger goals, I give myself something to match the achievement. I just received my new recumbent bicycle yesterday for 4 weeks of physical therapy and being back to healthy, clean eating, exercise and motivation on SparkPeople. I had been saving a monetary gift from Christmas for just such an occasion.

Since I'm pretty new to the program, I've decided to give myself small rewards each time I lose 5lbs. I'm hoping that using such a small increment wull help me stay motivated since it's pretty easily attainable and I won't have to wait so long between rewards. So, each time I lose 5lbs I'm planning on buying something that I'd like to take on our trip to Mexico in October - sunglasses, sun hat, sandals, beach bag, etc. Hopefully the last item will be a bathing suit that actually looks good on me! emoticon

My reward will be going shopping for clothes and actually enjoying shopping for clothes. Since I've been heavy I wear clothes to cover by body and that's all the interest I've had in them. So New clothes! New haircut! 35 more lbs to go! Whoo Hoo!

For reaching 149 (under 150!) I had bought a beautiful dragonfly sterling silver necklace and I wear it to remind me where I have come from and how easily it is to cross back to that number and keep climbing. Unfortunately this is a real plateau weight and I can't seem to break through it and lose the 10 more pounds I need off. I am not discouraged really, just mystified why my body is so reluctant. Yes, logging, more water, more cardio, all the tricks, I will beat this :)!

I save $5 to $10 dollars for every lbs I loose that way when I get to my final goal and weight I will be able to go and get whatever I want! It's actually pretty motivating. Plus the feeling of accomplishment is a reward all by itself emoticon

I just bought myself a new pair of jeans. There were also a necessity, but I got the pair I LIKED not the pair the were $10 less. Only 1 size down, but I am good with that!

I charted a whole list of rewards by 30 days streaked with certain activities and fitness minutes. I interspersed meeting weight loss goals at appropriate dates. I made up a grab bag for small rewards like packages of nice work-out socks, exercise DVD's and inexpensive earrings. The incremental weight loss rewards were books off my '50 books to read in 2010' list. I enjoyed selecting stuff out of my grab bag when I wanted to use them. I earned my right for a new pair of socks after tracking nutrition for 45 days straight. Today I am buying the Tosca Reno book on clean eating and a two fiction books rewarding my 7 lb. loss since Jan. My full list of rewards is on my 1/3/10 blog: "Just the Facts, Ma'am!"

I have a list of rewards on my Sparkpage. I'm rewarding myself after every 10 pounds, at 10% of weight lost, getting under 200, etc. The rewards are NOT food related! They are things like a massage, a shopping spree, a weekend away with my husband. The big reward at goal weight will be a trip to Europe! But each little 10 pound reward is becoming quite a motivator! I highly suggest it!

Just ordered (finally!) a pair of Fluevogs (this is where I tried to insert two 'less than three' symbols but the program told me to 'remove HTML') !! And while I justify them as a reward for 2 consecutive months with over 1000 cardio (in the gym) minutes, they also serve as a motivator. A fat girl in a pair of Fluevogs??

For smaller goals my reward is some fancy bath products from my favorite bath boutique (LUSH). They're kind of pricey, which is why I see them as a treat.

When I crack below 200 my boyfriend and I are going to go away on a weekend getaway. :)

Some great ideas. So far, I've only come up with a long term reward - if I achieve my goal this year and maintain it into early next year, I'm giving myself a trip to Scandinavia next summer (2111). I figure all the money I'm saving on food and not eating out will help pay for the trip! I need to come up with interim goals/rewards. I like the spreadsheet approach. I'll keep watching this board for good ideas.
