I have a pretty involved system of rewards & have it on a spread sheet. For every 5 consecutive days of being at a lower Ĺ pound, I earn a small award, for up to 40-45 days for that particular weight. Each morning, after weigh-in, I can look forward to a little something & can preview what I have coming the next day. My biggest rewards (once Iíve maintained my ideal weight for quite some time): an all day spa visit, my favorite perfume, tickets to see Flamenco, a small wedding cake (a long story).
I even tailor rewards to the season (for instance, I had to earn decorations). Am thinking of what I want to earn for garden time. For me, it makes the journey a bit easier.

I have some small mini-rewards (new workout DVD, itunes gift card, etc), but my main reward is that I've allocated $5 to be put aside for every pound I lose. I don't want to buy too many clothes as I lose, because I hopefully won't fit in them too long. I want the shopping spree to come when I hit goal - but I don't want it to hit my bank account too hard! This way, when I hit goal, I'll have a spending account ready for me to enjoy!

My big goal is getting a hair makeover--maybe highlights and a nice cut. I hardly ever do anything different to my hair so it's a pretty exciting goal for me. I have also rewarded myself with going to the movies w/ my mom, new makeup, and I just bought a pair of pants that actually fit me.

For me it's going to be clothes. I have stopped myself from buying any until I reach my goals, but I think once I get down to 138 I'll buy a new pair of shoes...

Even though I can already see a difference in the way my clothes fit, I haven't started my rewards yet because I'm only on Day 6. Amazing!! Anyway, I do plan to start rewarding myself after 2 weeks, with a favorite food item at the end of each week and/or clothes shopping.emoticon

All kinds of things

make up
clothes
workout dvds
exercise items

I'm only 28 pounds GONE since having my son in September but once I hit my pre pregnancy weight, I'll most likely reward myself with a new pair of capris.

I would have to say every 5 lbs I lose I tried to reward myself with something small like a new exercise item like a stretch band, heavier dumbells, new exercise outfit, running shoes, and occasionally I will reward with a piece of chocolate or ice cream lol I would never make it otherwise

To me, rewarding myself with food would be like rewarding a recovering addict with a line of coke! lol

Ok, so for others perhaps the effects of a piece of tirmasu are not the same. But for me, like the addict doing a line, that type of reward could start an all night bender! I would rather go shopping for smaller clothes or get a facial! :)

The look and feel of being a few pounds lighter are reward enough for me, but if I get a moment of weakness, I don't feel as bad if I give into a small food temptation, because I feel I earned it.

I give myself a small reward everyday if I make good choices and stay within my nutritional ranges. If I have a good week, I get a glass of red wine on Saturday. I am working towards my first 10 lbs lost - getting closer everyday. I will colour my hair when I lose it. Hope its soon because my roots are getting long...

I haven't yet given myself any rewards, but most likely I'll just tell myself I did well, have a cup of tea and enjoy the results. I have lost a couple of inches around the hips and stomach in the past few months, so I'll go buy myself a new pair of work-out pants on Friday this week.

I don't reward myself so much for pounds lost as I do for eating in my calorie range and exercising over given amounts of time, which I think works better because I have more control over those things than I do the number on the scale.

I started out with the intention of rewarding myself with new video games or manga...it worked for about a month, but since school started again I've gotten so busy lately I don't have time to play games and I don't want to spend the money, so I'm going to have to come up with something else.

I plan on going on a 7 day cruise in June 2012 when I reach my deadline. Such as medium goals (I have 5 between now and then)I plan on doing things that pamper myself (manicure, beauty salon, massage) and things like a new pair of shoes, a purse, etc. I can sew, so I will probably take in clothes rather than buy new ones before I get to my goal... well maybe some new jeans or a swim suit when I take a bunch off!

I reward myself with new shoes. Since my long-term goal is still 80 lbs away I don't want to sink a bunch of money into clothes that (hopefully) won't fit for very long. Shoes however, will always fit. I'm excited to get back to a weight where skinny little stilettos don't kill my knees and feet! My other (somewhat counterproductive) reward is really good wine or a really big martini with bleu cheese olives.

Losing weight is hard, but so is being fat.

my problem with rewarding myself is that i often feel like i don't deserve it. i think it might have to do with because i have a lot of weight to lose. i think i might just wait until my goal weight and give myself one big reward for all of the hard work i have done. the little rewards don't seem to motivate me as much. it might also be in my mind. i reflect that when i'm maintaining at my goal weight, i won't be rewarding myself then, so why do it now.

Little goals get little rewards. But I make sure I keep track of big goals and give myself big rewards.

I'm focusing on small goals right now- like losing a pound or two each week. If I do, I get to take an afternoon or an evening off the following week to do anything I want to do.

I love rewarding myself for a job well done, but sometimes I get discouraged when I set pound loss targets for my rewards. So, my bf and I do something different every Sunday if I have eaten healthy all previous 6 days, and stuck to my workout plan. We've done things like gone somewhere a little out of the way for a beautiful hike and picnic, rented a kayak for the afternoon, taken a yoga class together, or gone to an organic restaurant for brunch (somewhere a little pricier than we can go on a regular basis). These kinds of activities reinforce a healthy lifestyle, and give me a renewed desire to continue in the next week! Also, doing something I never usually do boosts my confidence, and I have discovered some things I really enjoy--like yoga!
