Others 'give' me the rewards as my weight drops :) Their compliments and encouragement are my reward. I love hearing their input, and interest in 'how are you losing your weight, Emily?' I love talking about Spark People and the website to those who are truly interested in how I am losing my weight. That's what keeps me going :)

I purchase myself some new tunes for my ipod, they really get me motivated to exercise. My long term goal for when I lose 100lbs is to buy a dock sound system for my ipod so I can listen to it anywhere.

I reward myself with a new book. I love to read more than anything, so I buy myself a new book every 10 pounds.

I haven't actually bought myself any rewards, but every few months I try on my skinny jeans to see if they fit yet. Last time they were still on the tight side, but not too bad. My biggest reward would be fitting into them comfortably again.

My Valentine's Day gift was a massage, and happened to come right when I lost 10 pounds....
I plan on buying a new sports bra at 20 lbs (although I might need that sooner), getting to wear my old high school prom dress (which I still love) to my sorority formal at 30 pounds, and hopefully I will have lost 35 lbs by my graduation so I'll need a new dress! I'm going to Daytona Beach around 40, which is another incentive....yay beach and swimsuit pictures!
I also want to get a new piercing (in the cartilage) to go with my new look (45 lbs?) ..and obviously lots of new clothes after I lose it all!

I do various different things. For my major loss, I would like to reward myself with a new hair do.. I also like to do small things to reward myself like getting my nails done, or even a relaxing evening.

I highly recommend checking out the Pampering for Pennies SparksTeam! They have a lot of cool suggestions for ways to reward yourself for meeting both short term and long term goals.

As for me...the mani/pedi, highlights, and new wardrobe as I keep moving down the line. Once I pass 12s, I'll have to buy new clothes. LOL!

I'm tired of living on the sidelines...I'm ready to get into the race!!!!!

I am the sort who needs regular rewards to stay motivated. Some of my rewards: spend a day to pamper yourself, new make-up, new workout music, workout clothes, mani/pedi, make a painting to hang in bedroom, a jewelry set, new haircut, read a book on your must-read list, a half-hour of crocheting per hour spent exercising, visit the makeup tables at department stores and have them do your makeup, etc. And of course a bikini way down the road!!

I finally bought a house last year, so my rewards have been more of the little comfort improvements around the house like draperies, crown moulding, a new bbq for this summer, etc. An outdoor speaker & lighting system is next on the list (SO looking forward to less snow and more sun to take advantage of it).

Ladies, if you have a big & strong man at home that is helping to encourage you to loose weight, get them involved in your reward system! Hit a goal, get new tile in the bathroom ;)

I love the reward system. I have big rewards every ten pounds a smaller ones every five. I have a lot of the rewards already mentioned but here are some I haven't seen yet:

luxury sheets (they feel so good after a workout)
trip to amusement park
horseback riding
new hiking shoes
new bras!

Rewards are great! At every 5 lbs I would treat myselt to new iPod music. It was my best friend all the way and really kept me focused. I also bought new work out clothes as I lost more weight. When I met my goal my DH and I went to Jamaica. What an awesome treat.

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see.

Oh fun topic!! Lately I've been buying myself new workout pants because...well..they fall off my hiney these days!

However, after losing about 11-12, my best friend and I went and got manicures. It was a treat for myself!

At 20 lost, I'm going to get my hair done professionally and at 30, I'm thinking new running shoes (although I should bump that up the list, eh?)

At my goal, I plan on fitting into the jeans I've already bought- using them as motivation right now! Who knows what else!

As far as rewarding myself, I haven't done any of that so far. In the past I would reward myself with a favorite meal or a sweet treat, but I've learned those are the wrong things to reward myself with. I'm going to visit home in July, and I think that a great reward for my weight loss would be tandem skydiving. I've always wanted to try it, and I think it would be a fun experience. I'd also like to reward myself with new tattoos and pierces, a shopping spree, a mini vacation, and things like that. I can't wait to experience the new me!!

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I've never tried using a reward system. The intangibles, such as feeling better, looser pants, etc., has been enough thus far. But, I'm starting to think a little differently. Maybe I should try a physical reward system. What happens if I gain weight, though? Do I have to take whatever it is back? emoticon

Seriously, my greatest reward so far is that my husband is impressed enough with the site and the program that he got his own account and is tracking his food and activities right along with me. I can't ask for a better incentive than that!

manicure, pedicure, hair color at the spa, a piece of clothing I want, stuff for the house as well, candles, new exercise DVD and the ultimate is going to be a trip. It is gradual as I get to a preset goal.

I've rewarded myself in the past with things like pedicures/manicures, massages, trips, etc., but the bad thing about those "consumable" rewards is that the reward isn't a reinforcement in the future. And I've gained back more weight than I lost... But the clothes I bought in smaller sizes are still hanging in my closet, constantly reminding me that I'm two or three sizes too big for them now. So, from now on, the spa-like rewards are going to be solely for feeling better because of exercise and eating better, but new clothing in smaller sizes will be my only tangible reward for making the numbers on the scale and measurements go down. And of course the intangible rewards of better health, appearance, and self esteem. :-)

For me rewards are an important motivator. I have a cute new purse and 2 new DVD's sitting out on a table. I also have plans for a new yoga mat, a new bag to take to Disney, new bathing suit, and the big one...a treadmill (if I can be good all the way to Sept). I reward my self for consistency each month, not by how much I've lost.

Yeah, I'm kind of with JZA121 on this one, losing the weight is definitely the reward. HOWEVER...If I've lost quite a bit, I'd like to treat myself to a well fitting item of clothing that would accentuate my new found curves!

I like to buy new workout gear. If you look good in them and they help keep you dry, you are more likely to workout emoticon

I never really thought about it. I guess when I reach half of my goal, I'd like to get my hair professionally cut and dyed. If, excuse me, WHEN I reach my ultimate goal, I will shop and shop until I can find that perfect LITTLE black dress.

I reward myself with several ways. Sometimes I get a mani or pedi, go to the hair salon, by a new outfit, or a new pair of shoes. I think it's better I reward myself in thoe ways then having a treat like ice cream or piece of chocolate that way I won't want more lol...
