I give myself small things, things that don't cost allot. A solo trip to the library. A foot massage from hubby. A new wardrobe after keeping the weight off for at least 3 months. Each person is different, and so should the rewards.

I have set small rewards for myself leading to a final goal reward. After ten a peticure, after 15 a massage, ater 20 new workout shoes, after 25 new workout outfit etc.

I've never owned a bikini in my life...so once I hit my goal, I might go out and buy myself one of those, assuming I have the guts to wear it.

I think I'll add a hair cut/dye to my list of rewards. And then maybe a pedicure or manicure, which I've also never done.

Hmm...rewards sound like fun! Although it is true that losing the weight itself is a big enough reward.

I saw some mini rewards for every 5lbs on another spark page and I thought they were great mini incentives. Especially if you feel you would like mini goals and know you need to get other certain things done...

haircut,
pedicure,
new runners,
bathing suit,
earrings
music etc.....

I have added to my incentive list trip to beach, day trip, weekend trip (things I like but rarely if ever do)
but really I think too as I feel better with the weight loss I will not be needing rewards...they are kind of like little incentives to spark you into doing more.

The incentives don't have to cost either....maybe it is those things that make you feel good after you have done them (long bath, read a good book,visit an old friend, bike ride, etc.)

I have 10 lb weight loss rewards.
10#- Dad buys me flowers
20#- get away at Mom and Dad's new house (without them there)
30#- new TV (may decided on something else)
40#- cruise
50#- new wardrobe (and dusting off some of my favorite clothes I've kept for when I lose the weight)

I have rewarded myself as I met each 5 pound goal. I like the way you think Kerryann.

My first 5 pounds lost earned me a manicure at the salon. My second 5 pounds lost earned me a pedicure at the salon. I wanted things I wouldn't do for myself ordinarilly. It was rewarding. Now to loose the last 5 pounds. Hmmm what will I do then? Body wrap? (giggle) Just looking at my figure in the mirror is rewarding too. Slimmer waist and hips! Flat tummy... priceless!

I recently sent myself to a day spa and got these sore, tired, hard working muscles all massaged out. Then I spent time in the sauna. Sooooooo healing.

Then I bought myself an expensive purse which I would normally NEVER do. I don't want to get clothes until I'm close to goal, but a purse can always fit! LOL

Remember that the little things we do each day matter.

My first reward wasn't planned- but I needed new pants!! none of the old ones fit. Now I find the weight loss is the reward in and of itself. Also spreading the spark whenever someone tells e it looks like I've lost weight!!

I've tried and tried to come up with weight loss rewards, but there is nothing out there that motivates me more than the feeling of simply having lost the weight.

There's no massage, pedicure, workout video or piece of jewelry that makes me say "I want to lose 10 more lbs so that I deserve that."

I have a few rewards ready for when I reach some goals.
For the first 5lb loss I am gonna get my hair cut, for 10lbs loss I'm gonna get a french manicure, and for 15lbs loss I'm gonna get a new tattoo.

I think it's important to reward yourself. Have something to work towards.

I think my reward for working out every day in January (I know, I'm a little slow) will be some cold-weather running tights. Hey, I'm busy, I don't get to go shopping much. =) February might be some knee-high boots.

When I reach my halfway point I'm cutting my hair; once I reach my goal I'm dying it.

I've wanted it short and colored for a long time but with my body shape the way it currently is it looks too awkward and weird.

I download a song every week or so for a small boost of motivation.

Otherwise, I like to reward myself with things that will be reminders of the work I put in, and also move me further toward my goals.

Last reward I bought some plate weights to add to my dumbells. Next reward will be new sneakers.

I have only been here for 23 days and started out needing to lose 155. It took about 25 years for me to gain all this weight so needless to say I have clothing of many sizes. My first reward will be getting rid of the 2x's and moving down into the 1x's. emoticon

i'm doing a manicure/pedicure (a luxury for me) for major milestones--reaching the 130s and 120s. and when i hit my goal, i'm getting a dress from a store i've only drooled over before.

sometimes i get myself little rewards along the way for no reason other than doing what i'm supposed to be doing. (a nail polish, a new workout shirt, etc.)

i don't do food as a reward anymore. if i want some chocolate or to eat out with my family, i do it occasionally. i just make wiser decisions and don't eat as much. it fits into my plan. it's never a splurge. one splurge leads to another.

Goals:
1. Start training for a 10K
2. Maintain my weight at 130 or lower

TRAVEL!

My two favorite things are cheese and beer, so obviously neither is appropriate as a reward.

My third favorite thing is travel. So for losing 40lbs I'm taking myself on an extended hiking/camping trip. And for losing 60lbs I'm going to Austria. (well, actually, I'm going to Austria anyway for a performance program. I hope I will have lost 60lbs by then, though!)

My goal is 20 lbs lost. The massage comes when I reach it ... my quandry is what do I do for 10? Clothes won't fit 10 lbs later ... perhaps I'll skip the gym workout and pack a picnic and hike somewhere with my husband ...

That is not actually true.

After 5 lbs. I treated myself to a pedicure. Those first five pounds were a BIG deal...., giving me confidence that this can work!

At 10 lbs., I felt I was committed, and I bought myself a digital food scale - this has been an invaluable tool for me.

At 20 lbs, I bought myself a new pair of Levis, in a NEW size, because I *could*!

I am teetering on the brink of 30 lbs, so I won't reward until that is a sure thing. Not sure what that might be -- although I scheduled a facial for mid-March, so that might be it.

In addition, I have been rewarded with more energy, clothes fitting better, lower cholesterol/glucose numbers, motivation to continue choosing a healthy lifestyle.

At 20lbs, I bought myself new workout clothes.

I've heard suggestions of jewelry. It's pretty and you can wear it as a reminder of your accomplishments.

A massage every 6-8 weeks if I'm consistent with my workouts. For a shorter term "prize" a new pair of earrings or a new book. What is rewarding is just getting back into some of my favorite clothes.
