That I was consistent in reaching my goal. I took baby steps and then I challenged myself. I found nutricious ways to prepare my food that are very delicious too.

9 years ago, I was pushing hard at 300 pounds. I am down to 250, and have not gone over 260 for 3 years. I would like to make it to 175, but my pain has limited the amount of exercise I am able to do. I watch what I eat as much as I can, and do as many non-weight bearing exercises as I can tolerate each day, as well as my twice weekly visits to physical therapy. My goal is to lose about 10 to 15 pounds a year, and gradually re-set my body to a new weight.
I did go down to 240 once, but I lost too quickly, and bounced back up to 275 in just a couple of months of illness, so I have to go slowly to succeed.

I started my journey once and for all last September when I was put on high blood pressure medicine at 20 years of age. I started with a blood pressure of around 180/100 at any given time of the day... and now it is between 100/60 - 110/75 and I stopped taking the medicine. I'll be damned to ever have to go back on them... NO-SIREEEE!

And I am proud that I haven't allowed people to put me back into my mind frame that I started out in... and am sticking to my guns and don't mind counting calories and reading labels in public because I know it is helping me in more ways than I can count. :-)

I reduced my cholestrol to the point I don't need to take meds any more

I reversed by osteoporosis to osteopenia

I love to exercise which includes working out at the gym, walking on the treadmill, yoga, and most importantly dancing.

Remember to eat healthy, move that body, and drink that water.

This time it feels different, and I can't quite say why. But it does feel different than all the other times.

I'm proud that I've logged all my food, stayed within the calorie range nearly every day for three weeks, put in treadmill time four out of five days so far this week, and made good choices when I've eaten at restaurants.

It's a good start.
