November SparkPoints and Fitness Minutes Leaderboards

I noticed that in the category of running groups, this team was #1 in SparkPoints for the month of November and #2 in fitness minutes!

The team that was ahead of us in fitness minutes was the Road Runners Group which has 77,000+ members and is led by SP_COACH_NANCY. We've got less than 9,000 members!

You should all be proud of your hard work this year. Keep up the great work!

Two New Leaders!

If you've been around the boards lately, you should know SFARRINGTON65 and CHOOSING2LIVE. They are rock stars and give out such good advice and encouragement to everyone here at the C25K Group. I'm pleased to announce that both will be joining the team as leaders along with me, ANEPANALIPTI, CAROLYN1213, DRRAZZ and JOELSP!

Keep rocking it out. And keep running!

You Pick the May Challenge!

Hiya runners!

Hope the beginning of spring has been treating everyone well and that they've taken me up on my challenge to pound the pavement during the month of April. It's almost time for a new monthly challenge, and I'm turning it over to you to think of a great challenge for the month of May!

Post your idea for a May challenge and my favorite will be chosen as the challenge for the month of May. You'll get an excellent goodie and the undying admiration of your fellow runners as compensation. If we get multiple awesome ideas, we may use those for the months of June, July and beyond!

Leadership for Couch to 5K Group

Hi, my favorite runners!

It is with great pleasure that I introduce the newest leaders of the Couch to 5K Group:

CAROLYN1213: Carolyn is a terrific motivator. If you get the chance, check out some of her wonderful blogs! She's lost over 70 lbs since May 2009, started running, and is now training for a half marathon. Carolyn is going to be greeting new members and offering advice on the forums.

DRRAZZ: Kristin is a new graduate of C25K and is working on getting fit before her wedding! She credits the C25K program with making her a runner! On the C25K Group, she'll be checking in with new members and offering support to runners.

JOELSP: Joel has been running for 3 and a half years and hopes to share his extensive running experience with the team. As a leader, he will be providing advice, creating new challenges those interested in working out on a treadmill or elliptical or increasing speed, and offering encouragement to new runners.

Those new runners will join our other leaders already in place:

ANEPANELIPTI: Dimitra has been running competitively for over a year now and is training for her first half marathon. She is a great resource on the C25K Group!

TNDIXON: Is still working on Couch to 5K and will be running alongside the rest of those who are in the middle of the program. It's great to have a leader who is still working it!

And me!

KARVY09: I've finished C25K, run two road races and I'm hoping to do my third 5K on St. Patrick's Day! I love sharing my running with others (especially obese runners who never believed they could run!) and hope to continue to post monthly challenges with the rest of the team!

We might add a new leader in a few months, so if you are interested, let me know and I'll definitely keep you in mind when that time comes.
