TEAM NEWSLETTER: Week ending Oct 30th

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Greetings Team Family Members! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

As hard as it is to believe, October has come to an end. Yvonne, TRAVELNISTA, would like to remind you to get your WEIGHT posted on or before NOV 1st. Here's the link to the thread:

www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/team_mes
sageboard_thread.asp?board=12261x35061
x44759697

Here's what Yvonne has to say: "Do not post until you are ready to post your weight. I do not go back through the thread to check the weights for those that just saved their places. Some of your weights did not count in the totals last month because you were near the bottom of the thread but did not post your weight till the last day of the month. I work from the bottom up and not the top down. Some people just weigh themselves once a week which is why I give you 7 days to choose from to post.

Weigh in on or before November 1st. Please do not post until you have weighed in for the month and only post once. Each additional post throws our numbers off as far as how many have weighed in.

Post your starting weight on July 1st and your current weight. Or better yet:

Please post in this format:

July 1st weight :
August 1st weight :
September 1st Weight :
October 1st Weight :
November 1st Weight :
December 1st Weight :
December 30th Weight :

Total Pounds Lost or Gained:

Just copy and paste to post your thread to participate the Weight Loss Challenge.

Please do not make any comments about anyone's weight loss. Go to their Spark Page and leave them a Goodie or a message."

Best of luck to each & every one of us!!!! emoticon emoticon

I recognize that this Newsletter is a bit different than the ones we've been sharing. However, I recently changed computers and lost the "key" that I've been using and didn't realize that until I started typing this up. Due to time constraints I don't have time to put it all together, last minute. Please forgive me & believe that I will have it back in order by next post. If you have anything that you'd like to add to the next Newsletter, please send your contributions to me no later than Friday Nov 11th. Thanks & bright blessings to you all!

SPOTLIGHTED Team Family Member: PAT41164, "Pat"

Here's what Pat has to say about herself:

"Hi, everyone! I'm Pat... I'm old to Sparkpeople, but I have a NEW and SERIOUS desire to lose weight. I want to lose exactly 50 lbs., and that's why I'm here. I've been off and on Sparkpeople since 2006... and I'm tired of still being big. The good news — over the last two years, I've lost 9 lbs. and a few inches. That's positive. The bad news is that it has been at a snail's pace. I need to step it up, as I'm sick and tired of being so overweight. I'm looking forward to seeing photos of myself that I'm willing to share with other people. I'm looking forward to feeling good in a bathing suit. I'm looking forward to feeling fit and energetic once again!

And I'm looking forward to interacting with all of my new team members!"

Pat is newly married & looking forward to going to Hawaii with her husband to renew their wedding vows when she reaches her goal weight! Her hobbies are dancing, racquetball, cooking, drawing, painting and traveling. She is 47 & lives in IL. She works as a graphic artist/writer with her own business, and is also a certified life coach. She is the mother of two children, a son & daughter. Her "PLAN" to reach her goals include Cardio 3times a week, Weights 2times a week, keeping her calories around 1200, drinking more water, eating more fruits/veggies/fiber & eating less grains: specifically "WHITES". Here's the link to her Spark Page.. visit & say hi!

TEAM NEWSLETTER: Week of Sep 25th 2011

Greetings Team Family Members:

To answer a growing debate between TRAVELNISTA & myself about whether or not the Newsletter is a positive & well received part of our Team Family experience, I decided to quietly NOT post one last week. A lot of time & effort goes into putting out a Newsletter each week. I read countless blogs to choose the "Blog of the week".... & read through Spark Page after Spark Page to choose the "Team Family Member" to be highlighted. I search through the spark articles to find special ones that I feel might be of interest & help to the team. I visit the various team threads to help Highlight different ones weekly to better serve the Team Family by keeping them informed of all that this team has to offer. Every week I ask for suggestions or submissions to help enhance the newsletter. In all the time that I have been putting it out... I have had 4 different people comment on it or my efforts. Last week, when I tried my little experiment... NOT ONE PERSON commented or questioned why there was no Newsletter. To that end, I have decided to no longer post the Newsletter WEEKLY.. instead I will post it twice a month. Once on the weekend nearest the 15th of the month and once on the weekend nearest the END of the month so that the new Weigh In thread can be highlighted. I continue to encourage you ALL to let me know what you would like to see in the newsletter, how you think it could be improved, whether or not you think I should just drop it all together. This is YOUR newsletter and meant to help us all. It is meant to be a source of information, encouragement, motivation, inspiration and FRIENDSHIP. I hope that you will let me know your feelings about this.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

It's that time again. The end of the month is upon us so TRAVELNISTA reminded me that I needed to post information about the Weigh In on or before Fri the 30th of Sept. For that reason.......

I chose NOT to post a Team Family Member for highlight this week. We have had many new members joining us recently and each and every one of them deserves to be highlighted! We have several "long-term" Team Family members who have been noticeably absent lately and also deserve some special attention. Take the time to visit the Team Homepage. At the bottom there is not only a listing of Newest Team Members... but their pictures are included as well. Take the time to click on some of them and read their Spark Pages. Visit the Introduction Forum and read some of the introductary messages that they have posted. Click on VIEW ALL for the Team Family Members and just start randomnly clicking on pictures.. get to know YOUR TEAM FAMILY! We ALL need to feel loved and needed. This is a TEAM FAMILY... let's prove it!

TEAM NEWSLETTER: Week of Sep 11th 2011

Greetings Team Family Members:

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today has been a day of remembering for most of us. The event of 9/11 ten years ago did not only affect those of us in the US but it affected the WORLD. I suspect that no one forgets what happened on that fateful day and we all live differently than we did before that day. However, today has been a special day of remembering and I applaud all of our Team Family Members who have shared exceptional blogs with us today. If you have not been able to read them yet, please take the time to do so. Take the time to pray for those of us who are still here, for those who were lost, for the families & friends that have been more intimately involved and to ALL. Remember, prayer always helps and LOVE is the answer!

Today is also Grandparent's Day. If you ARE a grandparent, we salute you! If you HAVE a grandparent, I hope that you will take time to share some love with them.

Greetings Team Family Members:

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Here's hoping that all of those who have been dealing with the aftermath of the Hurricane Irene & the east coast earthquake are getting things back to normal AND NOT eating over their struggles. Emotional & stressful times can often lead to binge or comfort eating. Hopefully everyone is doing well & staying on track. SPARK ON!

Our Featured Team Member Blog of the week is: Week 7: Freedom is a Beautiful Thing by TEMPERANCE88, "Lauralynn"

I love this blog because Lauralynn shows us how we sometimes put too many restrictions on ourselves, only to find that we become over stressed & anxious about them. She shares honestly how "letting go" of her restrictive roles and allowing herself to relax a bit is helping her to get back on track and actually posted a weight loss this week. WOOHOO! This week our TEAM FAMILY MEMBER OF THE WEEK is: SUSAN134, "Sue"

Sue recently "rejoined" our Team Family for a second go round & has been on Spark 3 different times. She says that THIS TIME she is READY TO ACE THIS! She is one determined lady & I KNOW that she is going to master things this time! She has been married to her hubby for 38 years. They live in Canada where they raised 2 daughters. She & DH live in a quaint little town just NE of Toronto, ON where they reside with their cat & dog. Sue works from home as an artist, sculpting OOAK art dolls, primarily in the fantasy (faerie, elfs, etc) genre. She collects vintage clothing & textiles and has a passion for antique trims & lace. She enjoys attending estate auctions & thrift stores. She likes music & loves to read. She is determined to lose 122 pounds by July 30th 2012 & has set forth a pretty impressive plan to do just that. She has already lost 10 pounds since rejoining the team! Her main goals are that & to reach "onederland" by her birthday in May 2012. Her big "PRIZE" will be a trip to Holland with her sister once she has reached her goal weight. She would also like to get off of insulin injections & hopes that losing weight will make that happen. Her program consists of walking & being active at least 1 hour every day. She is watching her calories, sodium & carb intake. She is also using the elliptical & when she can, swimming. Take the time to get to know Sue better by visiting her Spark Page. Here's the link:
