Beginner XC Skiing Clinic at Cornell Golf Course Saturday, 10amHi Everyone,
The Cayuga Nordic Ski Club is running FREE beginner XC skiing clinics on the golf course at the Cornell University campus, at 10am.
The Golf Course is at the top right hand corner of this map, next to the red Cornell logo:
There is a nice intro to XC skiing here, if you want to know what it's like and how to dress:
If you don't have gear, you can rent it from one of these places:
Cornell Outdoor Education
EMS in Ithaca
Or you can join the Cornell Outing Club ($7/semester for undergrads, $10/semester for anyone else, including folks not affiliated with Cornell)
We'll meet at Japes Lodge at 9am to gear everyone up. Please let me (Anja, 4A-HEALTHY-BMI) know if you plan on coming and joining the Outing Club so we can have an officer there to sign your membership card and take your $$. :-)

>This Saturday and next from 10am to noon on the Cornell golf course, we will be helping convert people to cross country skiing! Anyone who wishes to have a little support and ideas from seasoned skiers is welcome to join us. All ages welcome. My 5 year old daughter will be there to help out - she's been skiing for 2 years.
It is free. You do not need to be a member to join us, however we will offer many opportunities to join during the session.
You need to bring your own gear (skis, boots, poles, and dress appropriately for the weather).
Gear can be rented at Cornell Outdoor Education http://www.coe.cornell.edu/goto.jsp?page=g
or Ithaca College http://www.ithaca.edu/sacl/recsports/outdo
We had to call off the last session due to lack of snow, but Im hopeful we will not have to worry about that this time!
If you have any questions, feel free to email me at the above address, or call me at 607-280-0391.
CNSC MEMBERS: There were a whole lot of you who said you could help out at these sessions, so who were you again? Feel free to bring your unwanted ski gear for sale/free - there may be some people looking for stuff. If anyone wants to bring snacks to share, that would be a nice way to welcome new skiers in as well - and a nice consolation prize for their efforts!
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!!

Zumba in DeWitt with WOLFKITTY and 4A-HEALTHY-BMIHi Everyone,
WOLFKITTY (Jocelyn) from San Diego is in town visiting her mom.
She's into Zumba so I thought it would be fun to meet at a local class. I found one in DeWitt Thursday (tomorrow) from 6:45-7:45pm
The woman who runs the class says drop-ins are $7 each.
Here's the blurb from the DeWitt Parks and Recreation brochure:
Ditch the workout and join the PARTY! Join Zumba instructor and owner of Pulse Fitness Studio Tammy Panzironi as she delivers a Zumba class like no other. Zumba is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movements. Zumba integrates basic Latin dance steps with arm movements and athletic variations, as well as style technique and attitude.
Dancers and non-dancers alike will lose themselves in this party-like setting and actually forget that they’re working out while moving to explosive and passionate Latin rhythms. This effective workout is like no other and will leave you wanting more and more. A hand towel and water bottle are suggested, but proper footwear is a must! Please wear supportive footwear such as dance shoes or sneakers that allow you to move comfortably around the room.
Held Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 28 – December
16 (not 10/12, 11/11, 11/25) from 6:45-7:45pm at Moses DeWitt Elementary.
Here's the address of the school:
201 Jamesville Rd
De Witt, NY 13214-2254
