Do You Want Your Blogs Shared by OTHERS on Facebook???

Your Spark People blog page now has a "Share" bar at the top of the blog.

That means if someone likes your blog entry they can "share" it on their Facebook wall!

If you like this new feature, then don't worry about doing anything.

BUT, if you don't want this "Share bar" feature you can remove it from your blog page and keep others from sharing your blogs.

Just do this:

Go to your SparkPage.
Click to Edit the page.
On the top Un-check "Show share bar on my blog posts".
Save your changes.


And, perhaps you should go onto the technical site message board and tell Spark People what you think of this feature.

Chain e-mails are not a Spark thing

Hi everyone

This is just a friendly reminder to please not pass along "chain" type SparkMails or comments on your SparkPage. There's one going around right now about being a beautiful person and passing it along to 3 other people you know. It's nice in theory, but can easily get out of hand.

I'd ask that you spread the word to prevent things like this from continuing.

Team page changes

Received notice today that all the team pages are changing. Supposedly per member and leader suggestions.
Check out the changes when they arrive, use them, then give feedback on the technical message board.

Team Goal Tracking Simplified

For those long time team members........if you want to simplify the tracking of your team goals from entering numbers to just a check mark on your Other Goals page you need to do this....
On your Other Goals page click Remove team goals.
Then go back into the team page and and Join whatever team goalsyou wish to track.
This will make the change from numbers to check marks since Mongo change the format a couple weeks ago.

I'm glad you all enjoyed this challenge. You did a fantastic job!!

I know May 10th was Sunday but this is a wonderful challenge that the SparkStars have done for 3 years now. Last year was the first year The 50+ maintainers participated.

We still have time to join and put our activity minutes in for this week, there is no rush.

Our Team Challenge will start on the 10th.
Our Team is called SparkStars.

What it is about:
On May 10th, thousands of women across the country will embark on an
eight-week physical activity challenge for better health.

The Woman Challenge encourages women to get at least 2 hours
and 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity each week.

This year it has changed and is not recorded in pedometer steps,
but in activity minutes.

How Do I Get Started?
1. Register – Register online now — it's quick and easy! Make sure your start date is MAY 10th.

2. Set a Goal – Set a weekly goal for how many minutes of
moderate- and vigorous-intensity activity you want to complete.
You can also set a goal for how many days of muscle-strengthening
activities you want to complete.

3. Enter Your Activities – After completing an activity, enter it
online. You can even keep track of what type of activity you did.
For example, walked to the store or biked 2 miles.

4. View Your Progress – Watch your progress throughout the
week as you move closer to meeting your goal. You can even
compare your progress from one week to the next using the
new progress graphs.

5. Earn Awards – Earn up to 6 new awards each week.

Big Community feature next week-Mar.16th

Before the launch though we are going to make the "privacy settings" page for this feature available, so people can opt out of this feature if they would like.

Mar 10th SP Change to our team Page...

As you have probably noticed we have a new look to our 50+ Maintainers Home page.
From SP Dave:

Hi everyone

We're very happy to announce some bigger changes to the SparkTeams page today. You'll notice some new tabs and features towards the top of the page:

1) The "New" tab shows new Announcements, Photos, Links, and Blogs
2) Announcements can be posted by SparkTeam Leaders. We encourage you to use this to tell your team about new challenges, new guidelines, or anything else. We hope in some instances you can use Announcements in place of sticky topics.
3) Photos can be added by ANY member of the Team! Others can also comment on photos.
4) Links can be added by ANY member of the Team. You can add links both to pages within SparkPeople as well as outside links. Members can then vote on if they liked links (to move them up the list) and also report if they feel a link doesn't belong on the Team. (Note to leaders, links you added to the Team in the past have been added to this new Links section.)
5) The blogs tab moved the old Blog section up the page. This shows all blog posts recently added by members of the Team.
6) We re-formatted the Huddle a bit to help everything fit on the page.

We hope you like these features and that they help your Team be more effective and communicate more!
