Enhanced Weigh-In and Measurements Page

I think you guys are going to love this -- measuring fitness & wellness! Read more below...

While many of our members look a lot at the scale to measure their progress, many also like to watch their progress in other ways such as energy level, body measurements, or fitness levels. We have set up a number of other types of things you can track, with information on how to track and levels to try to reach. In addition, we have made it so that for some goals you can track progress more than one time a day. This has been a common request from members who track their blood sugar throughout the day! To see these changes go to your Weigh In page and click Add/Change Measurements.

New Stay on Track Calendar

Hey Gang - SP has added yet another really cool feature! See below for details:

New Stay On Track Calendar
We've also added a monthly Stay On Track Calendar to the site, which gives you an easy-to-read, monthly view of what's coming up in your program (scheduled workouts and appointments) and what you've tracked (food, workouts, notes and earned SparkPoints) each day. This calendar is interactive and printable, too!. To see your Stay on Track Calendar, go to the Reports section (under the "My Tools" tab). Scroll down to the "Weight and Other Reports" section to find your Stay on Track Calendar

Chat on SparkPeople with our New Instant Messaging Feature

We're very happy to offer an instant messaging (IM) service on!

The ability to chat in real-time, like instant messaging allows, has been a longstanding request from our members. We think this feature will help you better connect with other members so you can get more help and support on your healthy lifestyle journey.

You can access our IM service by looking at the lower right corner of your browser when you are logged in to SparkPeople. This feature is provided by a third party company called Meebo. Please note that IM only shows up if you have a SparkPage (because you have to have SparkFriends in order to chat). You can IM only with members who are your mutual friends, meaning you each have added one another as a friend. You can click here to use our Mutual Friend Finder tool.

Each time you log in to SparkPeople, Meebo will automatically log you in as "available" for chat. However, you can sign yourself offline by opening your friends list window, clicking on your username at the top and changing your "available" status to "sign me offline." If you do NOT want IM to always turn on when you sign in to SparkPeople, you can log yourself out permanently by changing your Community preferences for IM here:

This IM feature is a "beta" or test version, which means we're testing it on the site for now; we're curious to see what our SparkPeople members think of it and how well it works. Finally, please keep in mind that our Community Guidelines also apply to all IM communications.

If you have any questions or problems, please post them in our Site/Technical Help Forum. For help using Meebo's IM, please refer to this FAQ page they created for SparkPeople users:

Thanks! We hope you enjoy chatting in real-time with your mutual SparkFriends!

New and Improved Design on SparkPages

--- A Message From SparkPeople ---

Hi, everyone!

We wanted to let you know about a new and improved SparkPage design that we launched today. SparkPages hold so much information that we wanted to make it easier to navigate a person's SparkPage and find exactly what you're looking for. The overall design is the same, but we've cleaned up the look of SparkPages and added some great new functionality, too. Here are some of the highlights of this redesign:

Tabs across the top of each Page, which allow you to easily view a member's photos, friend feed, blog posts, and more. For example, if you're looking at someone's photos, you can quickly get to their SparkTeams, too.

NEW Photo Pagination. When viewing a photo in someone's gallery, you'll now see links below it that say "Previous Image" and "Next Image" that allow you to scroll through the photos as if viewing them in a slideshow.

NEW Comments on Photos. Members can now comment directly on each other's photos. When someone comments on your photo, you will receive an email letting you know.

NEW Awards Page. Everyone has a tab at the top of their page called "Awards." This is where you'll find a member's SparkGoodies, SparkStreaks and SparkPoints trophies. We plan to add more options for special icons and awards to this section soon.

More SparkFavorites. You'll find favorites under the "More" tab at the top of each Page. Now, your Favorites section includes SparkRecipes you're rated and saved as favorites in addition to your favorite articles, message boards and shared recipes.

NEW Alert on Updated Intros. To clean up the page, we've shortened the amount of introductory text that shows, but you can still type as much as you'd like. Visitors can click on the "Read More" link to see your entire introduction. If you have updated your introductory text within the past 30 days, a note will show up there, letting visitors to your page know that they should "Read More" to see what's new.

At first glance, SparkPages look pretty much the same as before, but there are lots of improvements that came with this new design. We realize that our members take great ownership of their SparkPages, and we hope you'll discover that these changes give you even more control and functionality than before. Like any change, it might take some time getting used to, but we hope that you'll love the new design as much as we do!
