I'm Finally An Average Guy!
MICLWILDE

Like many of us here, that's what I've always wanted to be - an average guy - just like everyone else.

I never felt like everyone else, though - until now.

Last Friday I passed that physical agility test for East Jefferson Fire and Rescue. I never would have even attempted this before. I always wanted to do it, but I always told myself that I'm too fat, too slow, too weak - I'm just being silly even thinking about facing any sort of physical fitness test.

I always thought that passing physical tests was something that other people did and that I would never be one of those people, but I did it. I am one of those people.

I'm not in top condition and I still have weight to lose. I may never be the fastest or the strongest, but at least I can look at myself now and feel as though I am like other people. I've never felt normal before in my life. Just feeling like an average guy is an amazing feeling.

Chef Meg's Zucchini Muffins

These muffins are very filling!

The whole wheat flour makes for a dense muffin, which I like. You only need to eat one! If you want a lighter muffin try using whole wheat pastry flour, which is more finely ground and available in the bulk bins at larger grocery stores.
