I just learned that a co-worker had a stroke on Monday. She's still in the hospital, and is apparently not doing too well. She has some paralysis, and she cannot speak.
Remember this blog entry of mine, from the beginning of March?

MUCH better today
The abject misery of yesterday seems to have subsided... first day is the worst day, usually, and although I'm still feeling a little sluggish and wiped out, I'm at least not in pain anymore.
Woke up this morning and did Core Synergistics -... Read more
OK... so... remember when...
...a few weeks back, I said I had to go off the hormonal birth control because of my birthmark and its connection to increased stroke risk?
Well... I got my period today, which is kinda great news because that means my regularity isn't scre... Read more

I'm into my fourth week of P90X - recovery week! Don't get me wrong, it's still hard work... but this is a week where I get to take a break from all that high-intensity strength training. The workouts I'll be alternating this week are Yoga, Co... Read more
Week 3 of P90X is DONE! Today's my "rest " day, and so I did the Fat Burner Express (only 30 minutes - but brought the intensity, so it was WORK) - and I will do the Stretch X tonight, when I'm good and warm. Might do ballet workout before tha... Read more
Week 3; Day 6
Did my Kenpo today, and I must say... I rocked it.
I do have to be a little bit more "awake" when I do those workouts, though, and this morning was kind of rough as sleep was uncomfortable. Allergies are at an all-time high, and although i... Read more
Week 3; Day 3
Had my daily date with Tony Horton - or, as I call him, my Other Husband. Because, yeah, not gonna lie. I'd hit that. :)

Mysteriously, three pounds gained overnight. Welcome to the world of being a woman.
It's not like I pigged out or anything yesterday, either. In fact, overeating is something I almost never do these days.
Eh... I just need to be pati... Read more
Ew. Seriously? So gross.
So maybe you've seen the Geico car insurance commercials where there's this guy who's trying to save money. One of the ways he tries to save money on losing weight is by hiring three teenage girls to follow him around and police his food choice... Read more
I got up... did my workout as usual (woo!)... drank my protein shake... got ready and went to work. Didn't pack my yogurt for a morning snack because I knew I had one at the office, in the fridge.
And it's not there this morning. I only J... Read more
Pesach! And Easter!
I love Passover, I really do - especially when I can get to a seder. They're usually a great time for fellowship and reflection. And yeah, the food. :)
So what's this got to do with fitness?
One of the things I *don't* like about Pa... Read more
Plyometrics this morning really whipped me.
I was bringing the intensity, to be sure - but about two thirds of the way through, my body began to do weird things... I got lightheaded, I could hear my pulse in my ears, and I felt ready to pas... Read more
I love how it's only Wednesday...
...and I'm already WAY past my "calorie burn" goal for the week. :)
I did my ballet workout last night, and felt sooo much better afterward - it's true, once you get into exercise and find something you really like, it feels bad when you m... Read more
I woke up early enough today to do the P90X Stretch - an hour of really delicious stretching that my body was really rejoicing in. Did NOT wake up early enough, however, to do the Stretch AND the ballet workout, as I'd hoped. I'm a little baji... Read more
