I'm Back - in more ways than one
We touched down at JFK Airport at 4:45 am on Monday morning, which is 1:45 am Pacific time. The trip was really good. I had a great time with my son, David. The short reprieve from the cold weather was nice, too. As for my parents, they are... Read more
Greetings from California
Well, I am here, and the weather is beautiful. I am having a hard time eating normally, if you will. Part of it is the time change, and part of it is being away from my normal routine. So far I am not proud of how I am doing, but I will just ... Read more
Recap for the week
I am down 1.4 lbs. this week. Of course, that is after a 2 lb. gain, so I still net a gain for the month.
What I did right:
Major elimination of sugar. I did a reasonable job adhering to my goals for 5 of the 7 days. Some difficul... Read more
What worked and what didn't
Well, I am up 2 lbs. this week. It is discouraging, but I really think I can stop it. I think that a lot of us that have let our weight get out of hand have had a point (a high weight limit, if you will) where we will really not want to gain m... Read more
I haven't blogged for a few days. I have not been as good as I should be about sugar. Once again, I feel like I really have to swear it off pretty much. Small pieces of dark chocolate seem to be ok. Candy itself (like jelly beans) doesn't ha... Read more
Finished the month
Down 7 lbs. Not quite as good as I said it would be, but not so bad either. Gotta go get 'em this month.
I was hoping to go to the gym tonight with DH to use some of the machines. I figured with Super Bowl Sunday it wouldn't be too cro... Read more
Much reason to be proud in spite of setbacks
Well, as the month comes to a close, I tend to get reflective. So here goes:
I continue to "cheat" a little more often than I should. I would like to make February my month to analyze my triggers and try to tame them. This gets me upse... Read more
Well, I survived the booster club dinner yesterday. I actually think I did pretty well. Only one glass of sangria (I was more concerned about staying sober than drinking too many calories LOL).
The worst problem of the day turned out to... Read more
I weighed myself this morning. Remember, I am struggling to find the right balance with my scale (no pun intended) and how often I weigh myself. I had not weighed myself in a few days, and guess what! I weighed 189 this morning.
It is ... Read more
Got my steps in!!!
After writing yesterday that I would not get my 10,000 steps yesterday, I actually did. I ended up walking the dog, and at the eleventh hour (literally), I met my goals.
It would not have been so terrible if I had not. I have met my goa... Read more
It's been a few days
Not necessarily the best. I haven't been totally careful about what I've been eating, and I haven't made it to the health club for days. My exercise has been limited to walking, and I have barely been making my 10,000 steps a day. Today I'm n... Read more
I just got back from walking the dog. Man, it is cold out!!! I don't want to complain because some parts of the country are a lot worse off than us, but it is now 6 degrees out. Hardly toasty warm.
I see how much harder it is to exercise... Read more
I especially want to thank Linda for her mantra, "you bite it, you write it!" So true. I try to track my food to the best extent that I can. I will admit that I have been guilty of not tracking my food when I go off course because maybe I don... Read more
Things sort of fell apart
Last night. I gave in to the cookies and stuff. We had pizza for dinner. I thought I could handle it. I should have been able to, but it just didn't work out.
What I have been telling myself today is that if I don't let it happen again ... Read more
Taking the Bull by the Horns
Last night things were starting to fall apart. I had actually poured myself a glass of milk and was planning to have some cookies with it. Instead, I ended up pouring the milk out and going to the health club. I made my step goal for the day;... Read more
