Lead Is Heavier Than Styrofoam.
If someone said "Lead is heavier than styrofoam" to you, you'd just accept it and move on, right?
Why then, are so many folks compelled to correct someone when they say "muscle is heavier than fat"? Usually in the context of why they're ga... Read more
My Mind Wanders During Long Runs.
I don't know what it is about running that make my mind wander so. Today I was doing a 7 mile run, which became 7.5 miles by its end. It was drizzling rain and not too hot. I felt good.
Around mile 5 or so, my mind starts drifting. I'm loo... Read more
Alien Spacecraft Abducts Female Runner at local 5K.
OK, so my sparkfriend Brooklyn_born wrote a blog about attention grabbing headlines and how the goal is to reel readers in, regardless of connection to content.

Too many pictures, too little time.
I have lots of pictures, but will only post a few. I didn't remember to take a picture of the forest trail than I ran on. I did 2.5 miles running on soft sand and ruts. Kind of fun, but my knees didn't like it.

How I Did My First Hill Repeats. (Beware, Boring training report)

No Such Thing As Coincidence?
This morning I was going through my Facebook picture albums, because one of my FB friends had 'liked' several of them.
I came across these two pictures I had taken near the end of May 2011.

Florida Runners Don't Like the Cold Weather.
Today it was 36 degrees when my half marathon race started! After living in Florida's warm climate for 26 years, 36 degrees feels a lot colder than I remember it.
