New Year measurements and January goals
Thanks to portion control and a generally active lifestyle now, I have gained only a pound or so since our Sept-Oct vacation (I haven't walked for exercise since we got back, arrgh). Got my Wii Fit in mid-December, a few weeks after we got our W... Read more
Planned meals, late summer
I sat down and planned dinners, snacks, and baked goods for the next two weeks or so. (I'm SURE we'll grill out over the Labor Day weekend, too.)
These are kid-friendly, including pastas, breads, ranch dips, and such things. We tent to be v... Read more
More healthy numbers!
My physical checkup today was ever so boring (yay!), but I was delighted to hear that my blood pressure was a very nice 118/72 and my pulse was a very nice 72. In the past my BP has been around 130/80 or so and my pulse maybe around 90. I like t... Read more
Substitutes list, a quirky twist

Gotta regroup and restart
I barely visited SP the last week, seesawed drastically on my exercise, and had a couple of pretty high-calorie days that, thankfully, weren't as bad as they could have been thanks to my choices (I tracked the first day), but were still quite hi... Read more
Where I am now: updating the numbers
From June 16 to today, just over two weeks, I've made some great progress! I lost 1.5 pounds, nearly 1.5 inches in my waistline (at last!), and 0.5 inch off my hips, and held steady on my thighs (though they *look* better!).
My standard wal... Read more
From my baseline measurements on May 5 to today, I've lost an inch off my hip measurement (woohoo!) and another inch off each thigh measurement (fantastic!). My total inches went from 126" to 124" (I guess I only included one thigh in my baselin... Read more
Nine pounds gone!
149 pounds this morning.

Bought jump ropes yesterday for the kids and myself, and tried it out today. Pant, pant! (Not really -- but I sure did need brief rest periods.)
