I've been thinking of you!
I biked 43 miles with 5800 feet of elevation gain in 6 hours last Saturday! The event I signed up for was appropriately called Passport 2 Pain: 6500 feet in 50 miles but do you see the elevation gain in those last 7 miles?! Age is just a numb... Read more
The week before last, I took off work to ride my bicycle a lot. It's hard to take pictures during mountain biking (think trees and dirt) but here are some from my street bike. I'm sorry if they come out side ways. I can't seem to get them to ... Read more
~Work has been too busy and too stressful. One good thing about it is that we're opening a shelter for 50 women next month because we've been running out of shelter spots some nights. That brings us up to 8 shelters we're running. Whew! Enou... Read more

I took these while I was kayaking today:
Cross country skiing plus update
All the rain we've been getting at sea level meant there would be lots of snow on the mountains, so my sister, her boyfriend and I went cross country skiing last weekend.
Wow, were we right about the snow. We were glad we decided on a day tr... Read more
What's going on...
Hi friends. My mother had orthopedic surgery on her ankle, foot and knee last week so I'm in Indiana taking care of her. It took a lot of scrambling to get ready to be away from work for 10 days, which is why I haven't been around SP much. Bu... Read more

December and January goal
Gawly, has it really been 2 months since I last blogged?! It's only because when I spend time exercising, eating well, and relieving stress, it leaves less time for computerizing, which I'm not naturally inclined toward anyway. But I'm gratefu... Read more
50 pounds I'll never get back:)
Sometimes I read blogs about people's progress or discoveries they make as they improve their lifestyles. I get a lot of inspiration from them, so it seems selfish of me to not share mine!
Up until this week, my many story lines'es's for why ... Read more
At the beginning of the month, I blogged about my stress relief and calorie deficit goals, so here's my accountability check:
Despite doing well at practicing stress relief tactics, I haven't achieved my 300 calorie deficit goals.

October goal: Relax!
Although I want to think I can eventually work everything out on my own, I have to admit I need some accountability. My stress level has been higher the past couple weeks, which causes me to eat terribly.

My first official 5k
Last summer, I ran Sparkpeople's virtual 5k but I haven't run any 5k's with people because I was intimidated by the usual fears; maybe I'd get trampled by aggressively competitive runners, maybe somebody would point and laugh at the way I run, m... Read more
Sky view Observatory
I went to the Sky View Observatory in Seattle. It's on the 73rd floor of a downtown building. It was neat!
I live in the middle of that neighborhood north of the Space Needle, which I hope you can see.
