Osteoporosis is a condition that develops when bone tissue and key bone minerals like calcium are lost faster than they are replaced. Bones become so weak and brittle they can easily break. Osteoporosis affects 1 in 4 women over the age of 50, and 1 in 8 men. As we age, the two kinds of cells that maintain bone density become less efficient. We also absorb calcium less effectively. In general, women have less bon... One was at the Farmer's Market.
They had a petting zoo:

Sleigh Ride:

There were pony rides and a wondrous ice park for the children consisting of a climbing wall, slide and big dome tent.
The ice sculptures were magnificent:
<img src... Sat, 31 Jan 2015 17:55:19 EST Flaw In Nutrition Tracker? Rant Alert! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5866248 As I do more and frequent workouts daily and track them in the Fitness Tracker, naturally the calorie range on my Nutrition Tracker rises, sometimes to amazing levels! BUT, and it is a big but, the range for fat and carbohydrates remains exactly the same!! I challenge you to try get into the range of 2300-2600 with only 132-256 carbs allowed! Fat I can see, but the carbs? What about post workout recovery? 60% of your calories should come from carbs. I guess I should be posting this que... Fri, 30 Jan 2015 23:42:06 EST Plans, Planes and Pondering http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5864778 My first plan is to stop procrastinating and get busy booking a trip or two. Mom suggested going to Las Vegas with my brother and his son. His son wants to play in these Magic (fantasy card game) tournaments so my brother will be free to wander around most of the time. Its a thought. I do not gamble, but enjoyed the sights, shows and sound of the city when I was there last and know it changes rapidly and there is always something new to see and do. I think I need to see a travel agent... Wed, 28 Jan 2015 20:37:22 EST Help! Need Canoe! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5862629 Started out my morning with my favorite activity, working out, decided to push on the elliptical with intervals. Was 40 minutes along when*SNAP*!! I just about fell off! Tentatively carried on, it hadn't seem to have affected my elliptical and I could see no parts lying around and there were no grinding or clanking sounds so I finished 28.1 km in 60 minutes!
I had to go out to pick up a prescription and go to the club to set up my game for tomorrow. I was expecting it to be ... Mon, 26 Jan 2015 00:46:25 EST Workout Work-A-Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5861789 It was time I started organizing in ernest the transfer of materials to the new club manager. I had accumulated a lot of outdated material and am ready to take my second lot of papers to the recycle bin. To make sure I was not sitting on my posterior all day sorting it out, I worked out at periodic intervals. I am up to 170 minutes and its only 7 pm. Once I start a project, its hard to stop.
The stale smoke coming in is bothering me, and I would love to get outside and go for... Sat, 24 Jan 2015 19:53:16 EST I Am Free! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5860558 Its official. February 1st there is a new club manager to take over my position! I have to fully train him first of course, before he can actually take over. He was a past president of our club and a wonderful man, very well liked, a perfect replacement!
I had a day off, so I decided on this warm, sunny day to go see a movie. I enjoyed my walk in the sunshine there, but the puddles of water and slush not so much. It took me 25 minutes of fast walking. I thoroughly enjoyed th... Thu, 22 Jan 2015 21:17:47 EST Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5859667 I started off my morning with my favorite routine, exercise. I enjoyed a low impact 35 min DVD, then switched to online videos. I discovered a chair cardio and did that for 25 minutes -it was actually a good workout, using a towel held firmly in your hands with your arms apart to boost the workout, and it was really a good challenge on the abs to keep up with the arm and leg movements, actually harder to do sitting then it would have been standing. Then I did a 40 minute high impact cardio... Wed, 21 Jan 2015 16:26:20 EST
