I was endeavoring to print out a 100 page manual on two sides of a sheet. As my printer was not duplex, I had to flip each page over, but somehow the setting wasn't doing this, so I tried to stop it. Normally there is a printer quay on your computer where you can cancel printing, but I couldn't find one and had to use the printer's stop button. Tue, 24 Mar 2015 07:32:04 EST Osteoporosis, Are You At Risk? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5896400 67% of people with osteoporosis don't know it until their first fracture. Osteoporosis is a condition that develops when bone tissue and key bone minerals like calcium are lost faster than they are replaced. Bones become so weak and brittle they can easily break. Osteoporosis affects 1 in 4 women over the age of 50, and 1 in 8 men. As we age, the two kinds of cells that maintain bone density become less efficient. We also absorb calcium less effectively. In general, women have less bon... Tue, 17 Mar 2015 01:11:18 EST Better Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5891430 Stayed up too late, but managed 4 hrs sleep before the first wake up. As I took my allergy medicine too late (meant for night time use only), I was too groggy to get going in the morning and was late with my exercise, but at least felt reasonably good. There are things I need to do, but accomplished pretty much nothing. Yesterday, I cleaned everything up with some bleach to make sure everything was bacteria free. They finally lifted the boil water advisory today. So nice to get back to... Third night in a row of poor sleep, struggled to get going. Finally did when I realized my Fitbit didn't go into sleep mode AGAIN. This has happened before. I know I set it properly. You can't miss the vibration and two flashing dots. Then I saw it hadn't recorded my steps during a certain period of time so it seemed to go into sleep mode by itself! I wasn't sure if it was in or out so tapped it again and looked to see if it recorded anything. Finished exer... Mon, 9 Mar 2015 19:03:50 EST Super Sunday Hike (Photos) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5889577 I had another great sleep six hours with only one wake up. We decided to hike the same trail I did last night, but without the treacherous paths to get to the trail head. We had Angus drop us off and pick us up at the start, so it was only a two mile hike, but wonderful in the glorious sunshine and warmth (just above freezing) I actually got a bit of a sunburn. Today, I had to push through foot pain, bad arm and shoulder pain to go hit the trails. The sun was shining and it was melting. I soon found out what a difference this made. Getting to the start of the woodsy trail meant crossing icy and water pooled pathways. The trail itself was okay, not as nice as yesterday, the melt caused it to be harder and smoother. I also had to go to the mall to check if the free weekly magazine I get for myself and my bridge partner was in. We quickly went down to the lower less used trails, one along the river then up to a mid level trail. Its a thought. I do not gamble, but enjoyed the sights, shows and sound of the city when I was there last and know it changes rapidly and there is always something new to see and do. Ouch! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5859667 I started off my morning with my favorite routine, exercise. I enjoyed a low impact 35 min DVD, then switched to online videos. I discovered a chair cardio and did that for 25 minutes -it was actually a good workout, using a towel held firmly in your hands with your arms apart to boost the workout, and it was really a good challenge on the abs to keep up with the arm and leg movements, actually harder to do sitting then it would have been standing. Then I did a 40 minute high impact cardio... She is an engaging energetic individual and has a secret weapon Peanut, the French bulldog. I immediately left and they followed me home, teasing, taunting, pushing me around and spitting at me. My friend walked along behind chatting and laughing with the school's most popular girl. Needless to say, I didn't have any friends... Wed, 14 Jan 2015 11:58:46 EST So Incredibly Sad http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5853706 I was playing with my bridge mentor Barb today. 21 years ago I came into the club not having a clue about bridge. After taking the lessons, the very first game I played in was one she was running. I had no partner so she played with me. She saw some kind of potential in me. So began a wonderful partnership. When I wanted to play in the open games, there were naysayers who said I was too new and would get turned off, but she stood by me and we showed them all. Gradually, she would teac...
