YOGAANDBIKE's SparkPeople Blog http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal.asp?id=YOGAANDBIKE YOGAANDBIKE's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community SparkPeople.com http://assets2.sparkpeople.com/assets/nav/logo_spark.gif http://www.sparkpeople.com/ Does cooking at home add pleasure to your meal? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4848581 I believe that cooking is a big part of my enjoyment of the fueling process. I enjoy choosing recipes, prepping, and cooking. Probably because I've been cooking for at least 48 years, I'm not afraid of it or find it hard or onerous. I guess, best put, cooking extends my eating pleasure. Mon, 23 Apr 2012 17:26:39 EST Help motivate me to lift weights! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4830160 I bike, walk, practice yoga, and swim, but everything I'm reading says lifting weights/strength training is very important. I whine about this all the time, but I'm not motivated enough to climb the steps at the fitness center and go up to the weight lifting area. I'm there already. It wouldn't have to take long. I'm not horrified by lifting. My friends lift. Wah!!!!!!!!!!!! Wed, 11 Apr 2012 10:54:15 EST The M&Ms are still in the pantry. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4824455 I suppose I thought I had to buy some Easter candy. I didn't overload like I have before since family members will also bring candy to hide for the kids. I do know, though, that if I open the M&Ms I will over indulge. I promise myself some tomorrow. I can eat some then and maybe I will have sense enough to send the rest away.
Now some people are calling sugar and candy toxins. That's pretty scary. I need to research that on SP. Maybe I shouldn't send candy home with my grandchildren! Sat, 7 Apr 2012 11:18:26 EST I just discovered My SparkSummary Calendar http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4778965 I have been on this site since Dec., and I discover new things almost every day. Today I happened upon My SparkSummary Calendar. I like it although it shows my weaknesses quite plainly and over a period of time, too! I'm going to ask others to share new discoveries.
I wish I could find an entry I made about my friend who is on a "powdered food" diet. I wanted to continue writing my feelings about that. Some say you cannot argue with success, but I think I can in this instance. Fri, 9 Mar 2012 10:39:37 EST While you over achievers are running the LR Marathon, http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4769907 I will be rolling at Two Rivers. Sun, 4 Mar 2012 11:26:44 EST Biking again today, hooray! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4768357 I am still excited about biking with my brother. He's fun to be with and he's funny. We'll take my niece today also. It was too windy to bike yesterday--20mph plus. I went to the store and nearly got blown off the parking lot. He biked 12 yesterday though. I'm glad I went spinning with my son-in-law early in the morning. My promise again is to take pictures to show y'all. We have such wonderful bike trails. Thanks, Judge Buddy Villines! Sat, 3 Mar 2012 09:59:54 EST I like being able to get back into smaller clothes! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4766032 I want to ask about this, but at the same time, I hope no one here knows me.
I love getting into smaller sized clothes and am relieved that I saved a few pair of capris when I gave away all pants that were too small. This is true especially since one friend who had gotten the bag of pants accidentally threw the whole bag into the recycle bin at the recycle center. All the clothes were very gently used.
I've spent more time today than I should, I suppose, trying on pants that were t... Thu, 1 Mar 2012 20:35:50 EST biking on the River Trail http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4760097 Should've taken a picture. Didn't think of it. Serviceberries are coming into bloom and are very pretty.
[Serviceberries have been documented at least since Colonial times. Serviceberries are one of the first plants to bloom in the spring, with beautiful white flowers blooming shortly after the ground thaws. Serviceberries are native to every U.S. state except Hawaii. Technically serviceberries are related to the apple, but they have more of a sweet berry taste. Serviceberries ripen in ... Mon, 27 Feb 2012 15:54:05 EST long walk http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4724108 I didn't realize until just now that I could add a photo. I would have taken one. Our walking/biking trails here in LR are incredible. We walked 7 miles again today--did 7 yesterday. My friends signed up to walk or run the half marathon in March. I did not sign up on time and missed out. I may just volunteer to help with the marathon though.
I'm taking off from exercise (walking) tomorrow, but I know I need to start lifting again.
Let me just say that it is wonderful being retired.... Sun, 5 Feb 2012 21:12:07 EST Hiking http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4712716 The group hiked 2 hours Sunday, and I was not the very last. Almost. I felt fine. I like using poles for balance and someone said poles take some of the strain off the knees. I need that. My good knee hurt, so I rested afterwards. Mon, 30 Jan 2012 16:37:05 EST I haven't read any blogs, http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4707611 so I don't know how to blog. Anyone want to give me some clues? Thanks! Fri, 27 Jan 2012 18:42:33 EST spinning http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4703935 I am spinning twice a week now and find it very hard. I am not up with the class for sure. However, I do work hard and sweat, so I know I'm working. Sometimes I come home and go to sleep--I'm retired, so that's okay. Sort of.
Anyway, I will see what Thursday brings. The third time spinning was easier than the first two times. Maybe tomorrow will be easier some. Wed, 25 Jan 2012 18:59:38 EST
