My eldest sister had come here in 1962 as a contract teacher for the Department of Education, Guam. When she renewed her contract in 1964 she negotiated to bring me to stay with her and her three daughters who were closer in age to me than she was. I had gone there for a consultation after the cardiologist here recommended having my heart shocked to see if it would go back to a smooth beat. Within a short time I was admitted to the hospital and my son returned to our hotel to check us out. The cardiologist at St. Luke’s had another EKG done that was more thorough than the one on Guam and then recommended a Cardiac Catheterization which was done the n... I broke both of my long bones at my right ankle two years ago and I am still having navigation problems. Thu, 6 Feb 2014 06:22:02 EST Cast Removed, Told To Walk! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4987425 I had been told that I was not to put any weight on my right foot for 6 to 8 weeks. Most of the Chamorros and Filipinos on Guam are Roman Catholic. That means midnight mass for the faithful with some families opening gifts afterward while others wait for day light. Many families go to the beach for the day and that means grandparents, children, grandchildren and even great grands with all the aunts and uncles and their families. Other families go to a family home that has the yard to hold the crowd. The childre... I have looked and cannot find it.
I want to be sure to do this next Monday so they can use it for the Christmas holiday.
I gave three cans of green beans to the Salvation Army Food Bank just before Thanksgiving and am looking forward to doing this again.
Thanks and Merry Christmas,
Jane on Guam
460 447 442 445 ... Mon, 14 Dec 2009 22:41:04 EST Stranger on a birthday card. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2625759 There are a group of teachers who have lunch together a couple of times a month. One of our group is stateside but we keep in contact and send cards signed by those of us still here. Mary received her card which had a picture of the group on it and signed by all. Another teacher had called her and Mary mentioned the card asking who one of the ladies was. I had lost so much weight that she did not recognize me. I have known Mary since my sons were in high school.

Thank you Spar... Thu, 10 Dec 2009 22:14:53 EST Snakes! Two of them, dead. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2549088 This morning when I went to do my exercise/yard work I found two Brown Tree snakes in my front yard. Tue, 10 Nov 2009 02:19:48 EST Sleep! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2513985 I am sleeping for longer periods through the night! Not always, but much better. I usually go to sleep after 11:00 p.m. and don't wake up until after 5:00 a.m. instead of every few hours or every time I turn over.
Some of this I think is because I have lost weight (hurray!) and perhaps the foods I am or am not eating. I find my nose is not all clogged up and I can breath through it instead of my mouth.
Anyway had to share.
Jane on Guam 223 88 88 ... I did keep one dress to remind myself where I was. I may take it to a Spark Convention someday!
I am now wearing clothes that I have not worn in over 10 years. Yes, I do keep things but no more fat clothes.
Jane from Guam
104 248 9 30 Thu, 8 Oct 2009 03:53:26 EST
