In the past year, my weight has gone up 1.3 pounds, body fat is up 1.9%. Not bad I guess, if i wanted to maintain, However, my goal was and still is to lose the fat, build the muscle. I haven't done to good at that this past year. I can make lots of excuses, my husband had been seriously ill, I am a caregiver, I own a business, etc. etc. However, what it comes down to is,...I like to eat. I haven't been doing as many of my home based workouts as ... Sun, 25 Dec 2016 08:52:17 EST Sugar detox http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6284142 I really have been feeling lousy lately, tired, bloated, worn out. I am attributing it to all the damn processed food during the past month. I know better. Time to give it up. Not waiting till after Christmas. Starting today. Watching the carbs, cutting out the crab, back to basics. I do have a sweet tooth and its time to "pull it" Thu, 22 Dec 2016 10:04:30 EST Metabolic aftershock http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6234218 Starting a new home workout this week. Metabolic aftershock by Dr Jade Teta. I have followed him for awhile. He has taught a few courses i have done. Did the first workout today. Only 15 minutes but wow. Think i will love it. Also am cutting out snacks. I need my body to burn the fat, not always the food. Started that Thursdsy. Also using the digestive bitters which i love. It seems to be really working well. Sun, 11 Sep 2016 20:33:39 EST Stats for 2015 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6056621 Ok, so I am really into tracking things. I like knowing what I have achieved, what I want to beat, and figuring out how to do it. In 2015, according to my fitbit tracker, I walked a total of 3,916,084 steps. 1646 floors, 1,650.54 miles. That averages out to 10729 steps per day, which is what I had planned. My goal was 10,000 per day. When I am working that really takes some effort. However, my new goal for 2016 is 12,000 steps per day on average. My floor average was 4.5 daily, new goal... Fri, 1 Jan 2016 08:10:45 EST 3 miles http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6052846 I am pretty regular at getting 3 miles done on the days I am not working. I need to find something different for days when I am working, I am thinking 10 minutes on the eliptical may be a great start, considering I teach Zumba and do the curves circuit when I am working the extra time on the eliptical may be just what I need. I have a goal to lose .5 pound a week. I know that doesnt sound like much but considering everything, I think that is best. Sat, 26 Dec 2015 10:35:01 EST I hate hills. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6050192 3 miles on treadmill done. I hate hills. Hills are hard. Hills are hard because I hate them. Because I hate hills, I don't do hills. Hills are hard because I hate them so I don't do them. Today I made myself do the damn hills. Like anything else, the more you do it the easier it becomes. I will continue to make myself do the damn hills until they become easier. Remember, exercise is supposed to be hard. Today was hard. If its easy, its wrong. Sun, 20 Dec 2015 11:27:36 EST Happy New Year http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5842526 I always love the first day of the New Year. I use it to recharge myself. Lazy morning, writing goals for the year. Last year I accomplished quite a few. I ran/walked my first half marathon, the Zion Half in Utah, with my daughter, her fiance and my sister. That was a great time. <img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com/nw/1/1/l1112545072.jpg"> That was March, in June, I accomplished a long time goal and became a Certified Personal Trainer with Ace, went on to become a licensed Piyo te... Sun, 16 Nov 2014 11:36:58 EST So much for that. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5817625 I came here to blog again about the weight creeping up again, and realize it is not again, it is still. I have been so busy lately helping others that I have put myself on a back burner. And that sounds like an excuse and I think it is. My problem lately is what I have been eating. Weigh to much of everything. I seem to think I can work it off and being a trainer I really do know that isn't possible. It seems I turn to food when I relax, when I read, when I study, when I first get home ... Sun, 27 Jul 2014 11:32:57 EST I have got this. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5733026 It is time for me to get totally serious. I know how to do this and what to do. My problem is the eating at night. I do fine all day long, stick to plan, eat within range, nutrients are great. then I sit down to relax and it all seems to go out the window. Today, all ready I did 2.5 mile intervals and 20 minute yoga workout on the deck. I really enjoyed the yoga and may do more of that at night. Would be better than eating. I am taking a weight management nutrition course right now to ... Fri, 6 Jun 2014 22:48:17 EST Know what to do http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5685024 I know what to do, I know how to do it. I teach fitness and nutrition. I have a spare tire around the middle, it truly is the only fat left on my body and it needs to go away. I know to cut the calories, a caloric deficit is going to help lose that belly fat. I have started an abdomen training routine that will help and now, the hard part for me is cutting those calories. I do love to eat. I have started tracking again and do well all day long until about 8 in the evening. I just need t... I can push it out till May, possibly even later by next month. My problem comes into play with how soon do I want to take it and feel ready to do it and pass. I would love to have it done and be CPT before my 60th birthday which is April 22. However, on March 22, I am running a half Marathon. My first one ever in Utah, with Michelle and Cheri. Perfect example, I love my Chalene Extreme Workouts. Haven't done them all summer. Hate being in the basement when it is nice outside. Went down this morning and got a workout done. Loved it!! Felt so great, however, I had to start over with 5,8 and 10 pounds. Wasn't quite up to the 12 and 15 that I was at last winter. However, don't think its going to take long to get back to it. Felt much stronger. I'm working on my goals for the new year already... Anxious to see if its gone, this was the second dose. It was still extremely active after the first one. I am soo tired of this. I do think the mono is still active also. Still getting the "brain fog" and just plain all over tired. Sat, 3 Dec 2011 14:48:02 EST Been reading.. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4599763 a blog called marksdailyapple.com about primal fitness and health. It goes back to caveman days and how they ate and lived and how fit they were. It makes a lot of sense to me. A lot more than how we live now sometimes. I am seriously considering following this eating plan for a while and see if it helps with the waistline. I have been reading so many different books that follow this type of thinking about wheat, grains and insulin. I don't think it will be easy to get started especially t... Through the years I slowly added wheat back into my diet and now am suffering with a different problem, but still thinking wheat may again be the problem. I am reading a new book called "Wheat Belly <BR> by William Davis, MD. Which seems to point to problems I am having. It is such a hard thing to cut out of your diet, it s... Out for an early morning run in the rain today, it felt great! Went about 2 miles, came home and did a zumba warm up and cool down that I am working on adding to our routine. it feels good to feel good. Doctor wanted to try a shot to calm down the pain and maybe an MRI. I asked if we could try nerontin. A few different people had mentioned that to me, so she gave me a script for that for now. We will see what happens. She said to try it for afew weeks, then call to schedule an appt. Back to square one, I guess. Maybe it really is just old age setting in.
