I opted to go to the grocery store and wander around instead - my goal was to browse and pick up some sweet potatoes (not for today but for this week) .... I forgot I also needed to get some pears and grapefruit.

I did buy a handbasket and a half of stuff instead. Thu, 9 Jan 2014 22:46:12 EST Couch 2 10K - Week 1 Day 3 - The Importance of Stretching http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5587383 Oh, yeh, now I remember why stretching is so important! Day 3 I made sure to stretch really good after my walk/run. I've been achy sore lately for my workouts.

I get 2 rest days a week. In the past week, I spent one of them resting and the other I went dancing for about 30 minutes with friends. When I'm working out but not doing C210K, I'm doing recumbent bike/elliptical/treadmill walking intervals.

My longest workout was yesterday, Tuesday. My Last Chance Workout w... Wed, 8 Jan 2014 21:05:06 EST Shred Diet Week 2 Day 1 - Weigh In :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5587366 I lost 8 lbs during week 1 and as long as I kept drinking my water and ate everything I was supposed to (and we do have choices listed) I didn't feel hungry.

Things really get switched around with what I consider a meal in week 2. Smoothies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (not all on the same day). I am on the hunt for good veggie and healthy protein smoothies so I am drinking more than fruity ones.

Tonight, I drank a pumpkin smoothie (pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices and... Wed, 8 Jan 2014 20:55:43 EST Shred Diet Week 1 Day 7 - LCW http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5586225 Everything going well, except I'm HUNGRY today! I need to drink more water but I'm wondering if something else isn't going on. I ended up splurging on 60 calorie hot cocoa before hitting the gym.

At the gym, I completed a 60 minute workout. Looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in. I did 15 on the stationary bike, 10 on the elliptical, and 35 on the treadmill.

Here's what I had for meal 4 today. 1 cup spaghetti squash, diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. 12 shrimp... Tue, 7 Jan 2014 22:11:31 EST Couch 2 10K - Week 1 Day 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5584806 I wanted to do this run yesterday but it was windy and cold (in the 30s) and the city gym was closed. Today the high was about 30 (mostly in the 20s) so headed back over to the gym and used the treadmill. On my final minute, I cranked it up to 12 min/mile but mostly did 20min/mi walks (for 1.5 minute intervals) and 15min/mi runs (for 1 minute intervals). 30 minute workout at about 17 min/mi average pace. Feeling sore even after a hot shower and stretching. Mon, 6 Jan 2014 19:59:35 EST Shred Diet - Week 1 Day 6 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5584791 Everything going well, except I'm HUNGRY today! Calories are going to end around 1400 and carbs/fat/protein are within range, so not sure what is going on. Going to make sure I drink some more water.

I found some great Shred groups on FB but they are focused more on SuperShred right now. Someone mentioned they wanted a smaller group that was focused on Shred so I started one and set them as admin (they didn't know how to set up a group). I'm excited about what that might be like... Mon, 6 Jan 2014 19:48:17 EST Shred Diet - Week 1 Day 5 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5583449 Everything is going well, except the gym and it's 31 degrees. I'm supposed to workout today and rest tomorrow but I'm going to have to switch that. I was all dressed, headed over, and noticed no one in the parking lot and the hours on the door. Made the change on my calendar so I won't do that again. Next Sunday, I'm going on a 6 mile easy hike (weather permitted)

Also having problems making sure I have the right foods planned for me to keep the eating schedule on the go. I di... Sun, 5 Jan 2014 19:59:44 EST Shred Diet - Week 1 Day 4 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5582498 Well, last night I went over my drink limit for the week ... planned to have 1 light beer, but also had 3 jello shots and mixed drink (1 oz vodka, 4 oz club soda, 1 oz cranberry juice) but still kept within Spark nutritional goals and danced on a rest day so hopefully it won't impact me too much. Every day I'm drinking a detoxification drink of some kind another so that should help too.

This morning, I ate grapefruit (my least favorite fruit) with a couple of packets of splenda, 2... Sun, 5 Jan 2014 00:00:07 EST Shred Diet - Week 1 Day 3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5580749 So glad it's a rest day on this diet ... I haven't been exercising and the last 2 days workouts tired me out ... otherwise I feel like I'm doing pretty well. Sticking to the rules (mostly and still SPARKling) and not feeling hungry (well, nothing that a glass of water doesn't help)

I had planned to show you Meal 3 today but decided to show off Meal 1 because I can't believe I can eat this well and still be on diet. (meal one says I can have 2 pancakes (I made waffles) with no more... Fri, 3 Jan 2014 12:43:11 EST Shred Diet - Week 1 Day 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5580743 So far so good ... I did find myself getting hungry later in the day yesterday but then I checked my water count and realized I needed to be drinking more water. That took care of the "hunger pangs"

This morning, I had 1 1/2 cups of oatmeal! I put 1 apple, some ginger/cinnamon/vanilla in it, and chia seeds! I decided to have some apple cider (unfortunately, it was from concentrate and Dr. Ian Smith says all juice needs to be not from concentrate, but otherwise still on di...
