The month of Feb was horrible for me. I was just plain lazy for the 1st two weeks of February and ate stupid stuff, which help me gain back 10+ since December boot camp. Totally upset that I would allow myself to slide back into old habits so easily! <BR> <BR> March is a new month! Maybe an aha moment for me. Restrictly calories isn't good for any body type or anyone who wants to get healthy. I am the person who doesn't eat breakfast or lunch. Only supper. Something has to change. Hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5172671 This morning was the last morning of boot camp! I am kind of sad in a way - the early mornings (up at 4 am 3 times a week) were pretty rough at the beginning for sure. It got easier as long as I went to bed early. It was hard at first to adjust not only my schedule but the whole families schedule. But it was totally worth it! M, W & F were great days! I get done with boot camp in the mornings and get back home before anyone else was up. I got to relax a few minutes before waking the hu... Long story short is that my transcripts were not included with my test so it affected my score and the likelihoods of being chosen for an interview. <BR> <BR> I really took this news hard (harder than I should have). Legs felt great, breathing completely under control, and PR'd in 10K by 11 seconds without pushing it to the max at the end! Wanted to go another 3-6 miles, but as I waited for a friend to finish, found out that I had a nice blister on my heel. Darn it - I knew I shouldn't have worn the thick socks! oh well - hoping to go back out after bit and at least run another 3 today. I can't remember when I felt so good running. ... Sat, 7 Apr 2012 12:12:55 EST Drivers who don't watch for runners and walkers! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4807890 So I went out for an afternoon run today - as I am finishing the last mile and getting ready to do my cool down walk, I check traffic and begin to cross the road with no one coming in either direction. As I am in the middle of the road, I see a truck speed around the corner and begin to speed up. Now this is only a block away from our middle and high school - so they are kids everywhere, espically our track team (high school and jr high). We don't have a track for our schools, so the kids ... Well today was the first race of the year for me. I haven't been training like I should be for my half marathon coming up in april. But I think today really help me. It was the Irish Run 10K - hills and more hills and then some more hills. I think (well at least it seemed like) that there was more hills than flats in today's race. And for a girl who much prefers flat to hills, I think I did ok. I finished in 1 hour and 9 minutes - my slowe... I proposed that my Girl Scout council have a 5K as a fundraiser in my area since most of the events are near the council offices that are 2 hours away from my service unit. The good news is that the council is implementing my suggestion but it's of course near the main office. grrr - but I have been asked to be on the planning committee. They have chosen to have a 5K trail run as well as a half marathon! I am still bummed that they chose to h... I was nervous about running 5 miles - LOL - my husband just smiled and said it will be a good run then. I live in a small town right next to the country. So I went out and over the interstate overpass to my long run road. I can run my full half on this straight road, which makes the hubby happy. If I am not home in the designated time frame, h...
