I thought it was just a pulled muscle or something and hoped it would go away. It got worse. Finally, when I couldn't sleep, sit, stand or walk I went to see a chiropractor recommended by a friend. After Xrays, I learned that my spine is curved and I've had weakening in my back & ab muscles because of pronation of my feet. I'm now getting treatment & doing exercises to help me heal and get my spine hea... Mon, 19 Aug 2013 23:25:22 EST Back from Vacation--not a disaster!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5445522 I'm back from vacationing and not tracking my food/fitness hours. I was concerned that it would be a diet disaster--but it wasn't! In fact, I continued exercising a little bit and I payed attention to what I ate. That doesn't mean I choose wisely all of the time, but I CHOSE! I didn't feel compelled to eat when I wasn't hungry. This is a major accomplishment for me.

I've only lost 4 pounds so far, but my stomach is shrinking and my arms are getting toned. I will continue bein... Mon, 5 Aug 2013 17:10:25 EST Staying in the habit http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5429645 Thanks for everyone's kind comments on my last post. Things are getting better--though I went out of town & had to eat out more---I thought I was choosing fairly well, but wow! My little brown rice bowl & sweet N sour chicken was 910 calories! I split it into 2 meals, but I was still hungry. I need to really watch out.

I'll be spending a week in CA with my mom who is a binge & emotional eater (I eat for comfort too). Any ideas on how not to get sucked into unhealthy eating for... Mon, 22 Jul 2013 17:20:35 EST Some hard days http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5423576 Stress and lack of money to go grocery shopping for healthy food have made it harder to stay on track the last few days. I haven't felt like cooking or preparing anything, so I've eaten what is easy and available--which tends to be less healthy.

As long as I keep tracking my food and exercise, I'll be okay. I have to realize this is a temporary set back and I'll do better soon. Tue, 16 Jul 2013 22:49:58 EST You are never behind, just jump in where you are! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5415001 At the end of May 2013, I decided to get serious about losing the weight. I was in denial for a long time, thinking that just because I exercised regularly, I could eat whatever I wanted. I also had lots of stress in my life--and the way I handled it was to eat!

I've been doing pretty well in logging my food and staying within my calorie range. But the past two weeks, I've been pre-occupied with summer activities and haven't kept very good track. I gained two pounds back. I'm ... Tue, 9 Jul 2013 00:22:59 EST Still plugging along http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4545595 I've been doing Spark People since August 11, but have only lost two pounds. It's a learning process--that's what I tell myself anyway. Last week I ate too much processed food. This week I'm sticking with homemade. that's made a difference in my energy level and calories I consume. Thu, 20 Oct 2011 21:42:47 EST Learning Patience http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4491785 I've been food logging and exercising for over a month now, but I haven't lost any weight--in fact, I've gained two pounds. Talking to friends and reading helped me realize that my body is adjusting to changes and it may take more time for me to see any weight loss.

This is what I have noticed: my wedding ring is more loose on my finger; my back muscles are more defined; I have much more energy; I'm making better food choices without feeling deprived. Sun, 18 Sep 2011 21:35:07 EST New--starting over http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4470317 I've done food logging off and on, but it didn't work until I changed the way I thought about food. I"m trying to see my food choices as FUEL choices. I would never put sand in my car gas tank or knowingly buy gasoline that had lots of crud in it--so I shouldn't do that to my body either!

Little by little, it's working. It's been hard being honest with myself about what I eat and why. My first step is to avoid fast food and soda pop. I used to fool myself into thinking that ea... Tue, 6 Sep 2011 21:13:46 EST
