I am currently trying to maintain my weight to allow the elasticity of my skin to catch up. No loose skin yet, but I can see where there would be some potential. I am replacing my cardio with lifting weights. I have seen some great increases in toning and muscle definition within the last month. The attached picture is a comparison of July 08 (9th and 10th),2012 with July 08,2013.

<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com/nw/1/... This weekend I completed the Warrior Dash in Amity, AR. As of the Dash I am down about 117 lbs. I had a great time, and feel like a whole new person. I am at a point where I will need to start slowing down on weight loss in order to firm up a bit. No loose skin yet, but I can see the potential. I am still planning on being around 15% body fat by my 40th birthday. Right now I am probably hovering close to 23%. I figure I was cloer to about 45% or ... Tue, 14 May 2013 11:07:14 EST Fad Diets and Freaky Weight Loss Tips http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5284033 I constantly get a flood of emails into my inbox for various new diets or weight loss tips as a result of signing up to different weight loss related websites. The latest one I received was for a completely wheat free diet. In addition to grains, it wants you to completely cut out legumes and dairy as well. The principle being that these foods are higher on the glycemic index.

Do diets like this they work? I imagine that they do. My problem, however, with any diet, is that die... My weight is finally starting to level out. I am down 2 lbs this week (my weekly goal) down for a total of 14 lbs so far! I am at the weight I was at when I had started my weight loss goals 2 years ago.

I have remained soda free, and have still been eating within my caloric goals. I hiked 2 times again. this time I added a 10 lb weight to my bag to make up for the weight I had already lost. I would have hiked another 1-2 times had it not been for the remnant... I have lost another 6 lbs (for a total of 12 lbs). I have lost 1" off of my stomach. Not only have I stayed away from soda, and have stayed within my daily caloric limits, but I have also managed to stay away from sweets a lot more. I am not depriving myself completely, every one in a while I am eating an ice cream sandwich as my after supper snack. However, I didn't eat anything sweet 3 days this week. This is a huge change given that I was eating desserts after both l... I completely eliminated sodas from my diet, hiked two times and stayed within daily caloric intakes (although I did not officially track calories the last 2 days, I have kept up with them) As a result of my work I lost 6 lbs this week! I understand that you tend to loose more at first, and was counting on that at first in case weight loss slows as I become nearer to me goal. I am refraining from posting a picture this week ... In the days leading up to today I have splurged a little to get it out of my system. Yesterday was my first full day to track calories. It was also my first full day without sodas. Based on any given day I have saved myself somewhere between 600 and 1000 calories just there.

I am incredibly embarrassed at how big I have become. I am 10 lbs heavier than the last time I chose to lose weight. I feel like this time, if I keep a... Sun, 12 Aug 2012 11:10:51 EST 08/08/12 – preparing to start Fit by 40 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5007371 I currently weigh in at 340 lbs. +. The plus is there because my bathroom scale has started giving me error messages for me being over 340 lbs. I doubt that it is more than a lb. or two, but believe me, it is an endless source of embarrassment. My ideal weight should be closer to about 185. In other words, I weigh almost twice what I should.
It is no wonder, when you gather what I like to eat:

My current favorite breakfast is Hardees’ Country Fried Steak biscuit with gravy...
