I just started it a little over a month ago, and now I'm addicted! Before, I would cook chicken breasts, for example, in a little oil on the stovetop or in the oven, seasoning it right before cooking, and the results were usually a dry breast devoid of flavor. I've never been good at cooking meat. Now I marinade the chicken breast overnight in pepper, sea salt, basil, etc. Heat up some water in a pan (not enough to submerge the chicken at all (i.... Wed, 12 Sep 2012 17:29:26 EST Why is it so hard to drink enough water?! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5044653 Well, I have not drunk pop in over a month (which is huge for me). However, I have replaced it with copious amounts of teas (and I DO mean copious). I find the tea to be so soothing, but of course it is a diuretic. That would be ok if I were drinking tons of water....but I'm not. Here it is 9:25pm and I'm just not cracking open my first bottle of water. What's wrong with me?! I walk around with a dry mouth all of the time. It's not good. I betcha if I actually got 8 cups of water or more in ... Tue, 4 Sep 2012 21:35:49 EST Sedate me with Chocolate, STAT! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4861380 Well, I completely messed up today. I not only fell off the bandwagon, but it backed up and ran me over a couple times. So I'm a medical student, on my surgery rotation. I started with a new surgeon today, and let me tell you he is a psychopath...he's a great surgeon and man does he know his stuff....but nonetheless he is a psychopath. All he does is scream in the operating room...no one is safe. Not the nurses, not med student (me), and especially not the resident. During the 5 operations to... Tue, 1 May 2012 14:09:02 EST Going to gym, in icy weather http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4695438 Took me 5 mins to do a rush job of scraping the ice off of my car windows. Pulled out onto the semi-plowed street, and headed onto the highway. Cars are driving slow, passed a car that had slid off the road. But no matter how bad the roads are, how cold the wind is, or the fact that I could be sleeping in this Saturday morning, I'm going to the gym! Got there safely, by God's grace. Walked in and looked around for my trainer....but I can't find him. Finally, I asked another guy who works ther... Sat, 21 Jan 2012 15:53:21 EST 50 lbs down today!! Whoohoo! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4543626 Got on the scale today, and I am officially 51.5 lbs down since May 2011! Praise God!! I remember yesterday, I was so upset, because I saw a cousin of mine that I haven't seen in so long....we got to talking about exercise and health and I shared with him that I've lost 49 lbs since May....and he was like," You mean you were 49 lbs heavier than you are now?! You're still big....I can't imagine you being 49 lbs heavier! I was talking to my brother the other day, and he was telling me how big y... Wed, 19 Oct 2011 15:45:21 EST Hello Old Friend! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4482537 Well, I shamefully have not logged onto SPARKPEOPLE in forever (since January 2011). The excuse: I was too busy. The REAL reason: I was ashamed because here I was setting all of these lofty goals for the new year, then I instead gained a ton of weight. By May, I was at my lifetime high: 301.1 lbs! How could I have let that happen?! I was completely in denial, isolated myself from family and friends. Food was my only comfort and stress reliever, which only made the problem worst.

We... Tue, 13 Sep 2011 11:30:45 EST almost 1000 calories for Breakfast?! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3910422 249 So they say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that you should never skip it. Well, I must have taken that advice too much to heart. This is my first time setting up my Sparkpeople page and I decided to use the nutrition tracker to see how many calories I ate for breakfast today..... 855 calories! I'm not big on typical "breakfast foods", so yes, I went to my friendly (or maybe, not-so-friendly... 230 ) neighborhood Panera Bread to warm up to some... Mon, 10 Jan 2011 13:57:20 EST
