The highlight of the trip was the hike to Hanging Lake in Glenwood Canyon. We tried to go on Thursday but got there too late and could not find a place to park. So we gave it 1 more try on Friday morning as we were heading home. Set the alarm for 6am and got there by 7:30am. I tend to follow 2 different ways when tracking my food.

During the week while at work I tend to track what I am going to eat in the morning and follow it throughout the day. When I get home each night I make adjustments, subtracting what I didn't eat that day and/or adding anything extra that I have eaten. I am usually near the middle of my range when I do this.

On days that I don't work I tend to eat th... Sat, 30 Nov 2013 02:28:46 EST Being honest with myself. Evaluating what worked and getting back to it. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5548785 When I began this journey last year to become healthy, I lost 40 pounds in 8 months. I felt good and was ready to quit smoking. The final step to really lead the healthy lifestyle that I wanted.

For 6 months I maintained my weight loss, then I gained 19 pounds back in 6 months. Prizes in the past have been cookbooks, gift cards (Whole Foods and such), water bottles, fitbits, and T-shirts to name a few. Mon, 14 Oct 2013 01:45:00 EST Why am I so afraid to reach my goal weight? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5493285 Sounds like a silly question. Sun, 22 Sep 2013 23:36:56 EST Reflecting on the last three months http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5465436 Well it is almost 3:30 am and I can't sleep. I have gained a pound a week instead of losing or maintaining.

What hasn't been good: I was put on anxiety medication back in April. I always dreaded the conversation with the doctor which was always the same. You really need to ... should...or have to quit smoking. At my follow up appointment in October the conversation was still there, but this time it was different. It was "I know you can do this. Look what you have done already." So I set my mind to it and a few weeks ago I picked a date to quit. 11/12/12. This i... We met when she was 19 and I was 20. I had just moved to the Quad Cities in February 1984. (The Quad Cities are 4 cities that border the Mississippi River in Iowa and Illinois). We hit it off right away and became best friends. When I needed a place to stay in the summer of 1985 I moved in with her and her husband. Not only did we live together, we also worked at Kmart together. I was the maid of honor at her wedding and she was the matron of hono... Both of my parents were obese and healthy eating was not practiced in my house. They would hoard snacks in their bedroom (cookies, chips, pretzels, etc) and we were not allowed to have them. Of course we would sneak into their room and grab some whenever we could. At 13 I began babysitting and making my own money, which I would use for junk food from any vending machine I could find or the local market. 29 I gained 60 ... Sun, 5 Aug 2012 02:06:18 EST The Start of a Journey http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4955686 It all began when my company decided that the department I worked in was going to have annual physicals. I made an appointment with my doctor to get the bad news first, before hearing it from the Company doctor. I had that appointment with my doctor on March 1, 2012. My blood pressure was critically high, 220/120, and he told me that if I didn't do something now I was going to have a stroke in less than 3 years. By March 3rd I was in the ER with extreme stomach pains. Had a cat scan and ... Wed, 4 Jul 2012 22:37:57 EST
