I am down 11 pounds even from January 1st! I like the tracker a lot- and unlike SP, they up your calories on days when you work out, which I LOVE. It hasn't affected my loss at all- I've consistently lost about a pound each week (more in the beginning- you know how that goes!). I have stayed within a few pounds of 132 since May. That is crazy- I have bounced between 155-175 for the last ten years, so 132 is pretty freaking remarkable. I still tell people about SP all the time.

I think I wanted to post here today because my sister-in-law posted a few very unflatteri... I have weighed myself three days this week- 132.4 on Tuesday, 133.8(!) yesterday, and 131.8 today. It's making me nuts, I'm over analyzing everything I put into my mouth, which is making me feel bad! When I look at the last couple of MONTHS, I have stayed within a pound or two- this is great... If it were my Sparkfriend, I would commend them for keeping up maintenance.
<B... Since June, I've stayed at 132 with little exception, and I know it's silly, but I started to think I couldn't lose any more... It's coming off. I tried to stay to the lower end of my calories and took one nice hike (I have been hiking 2x a week, but I woke up with a stiff neck this weekend, so I only got one hike in this week). I tracked my food, swam, and took a crazy hike on Sunday. Rather than stressing or over-thinking this, I'm going to share some pics of the last week and hope for a better weigh-in next Tuesday. In week 12, we went out of town (to beautiful San Francisco) for Mike's sister's wedding. I went in with a plan to eat really healthy balanced meals, but more bread and wine sneaked its way into my diet than I would have liked. And small as that sounds, it REALLY freaked me out.

Since January 2nd, I have been a pillar of dietary strength (realize that sounds stupid, moving on...). Around week 6 or so, I hit this stride and had the realization that... Mon, 2 Apr 2012 13:05:25 EST San Francisco! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4812531 This one's for you, ALYSSA! A photo blog of my adventures in the beautiful city of San Francisco...

Mike and I headed up to see his sister Pam get married this week at the beautiful city hall (I'm the one with the purple behind!):

But first, we explored Fisherman's Wharf (where we stayed):

Enjoyed an Irish coffee at... MINUS two pounds!!!

THAT is a great way to start a challenge! Since January 2nd of this year, I have lost 25 pounds, and am now only 5 pounds away from my first goal of getting to 140... The only reason I don't have a final goal is because I've never been this small, so I have no idea what my ideal weight is. I've seen other's with the same problem here, isn't SP the bomb?

I am ... I am totally fine with this paltry little loss because I know it will mean a slightly bigger loss for the next weigh-in! Thinking positively here 211

I did have an amazing week capped off poetically by a tremendous non-scale victory. Because I can't keep secrets/hide my emotions/c... Mon, 19 Mar 2012 11:48:21 EST I Feel Good! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4792295 If someone told me last December 31st that by March I would be in the 140s, training for a 5k with Mike, and completely OFF of fast food and soda, I would have LAUGHED.

Don't get me wrong, some days are harder than others (hungry days, busy days, TOM, etc.), but I've hit this stride and am NOT turning back to my fatty, crappy, sedentary lifestyle.

This week, Mike and I took a hike, and we took pictures. No makeup, sweaty, workout clothes (not the cutey kind!), and I... Sat, 17 Mar 2012 16:35:45 EST When BRAIN and BODY just don't match up... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4787290 My Spark friend APONI_KB brought up a recent (and yet already forgotten) memory for me. She mentioned feeling bad after seeing pictures from a race- MAN can I relate!

Last August, in an attempt to force myself to exercise, I signed up and half-heartedly trained for a HALF MARATHON in November... I completed the race and was elated. I felt accomplished, strong, and capable... And then I saw THE PICTURES. They told a different story. I looked 20 pounds heavier than I thought I ... Wed, 14 Mar 2012 12:39:01 EST Spring 5% Challenge Assignment 3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4785552 I am posting here in a blog because I would like to look back on this during and after this challenge. I have had my head down and pushed like a dog to get where I am now, but it is definitely time to look up and evaluate these questions:

1. List all the reasons you want to lose weight.

To feel comfortable (in interviews, on a beach, in bed, in my own skin), to never be called out for my weight (I was once ON A DATE and some drunk middle-aged man yelled out of his truc... Everything was beautiful and FUN! Mary was in charge of paper (invites, decorations, etc.) and I did food, booze, and games. The theme was San Francisco (where they are getting hitched), so I made standard luncheon fare, but with a SF twist. We had a cheese plate with central coast bleu cheese and dried figs, Chinatown vegetable egg rolls, Palace hote... But it was. One pound- exactly what I worked for and wanted.

School: Oh man... Grad school is hard, and anyone who tells you otherwise is a lunatic or mass murderer, and you should run from them. It's just piles of reading and projects without much instruction. You have to jump into... Mon, 5 Mar 2012 10:34:02 EST Lavash Pizza- recipe http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4761457 Holy moly... This is a no-brainer, but I had to share because it was so good. Like, real pizza good. The bf loved it. It was ready in minutes. I got the idea from Skinnytaste.com, which is a great WW recipe site. I get lots of ideas from that skinny lady.

Ingredients:
Sauce- 32 oz. can of whole tomatoes with basil, 6 garlic gloves, 1 T olive oil
Ricotta mix- about 1/4 cup ricotta, a little finely sha... I had the week off of work, got a lot of schoolwork done, ate withing my calories all 7 days and exercised 6 days of the week. I blogged my about my food, pushed myself by doing more hikes (fewer flat walks), and I finally started a little strength training (with cardio as a Sparkfriend suggested- it helped!). I bought clothes in a SIZE 8 because my 10 and 12 work pants have been slidin... Mon, 27 Feb 2012 10:28:46 EST Food log 2/23 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4754137 Day three of blogging was just as fun for me. My usual meals aren't too far off from this, but during work weeks I always repeat breakfasts and lunches (like oatmeal and yogurt/fruit/granola twice each, and a Greek salad Mon.-Thurs.). But having this week off, I could try out different things, which was really fun.

Breakfast: Quinoa with cinnamon, brown sugar, 1/3 cup light soy milk, and strawberries- I loved this, it was delicious, different, and kept me just as full as oatmeal ...
