Vanilla and cinnamon. Mon, 16 Jan 2017 20:01:50 EST Additional protein http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6298804 Tonight I added brewers yeast to my diet. I can be used in place of parmesian cheese. It adds protein to savory dishes. I've also been reviewing my meals in comparison to the suggested meal plan. It appears that I am going over on calories for breakfast. I really never plan breakfast like I do my other 2 meals. I think that needs to stop. I'm going to need to put more thought into my morning meal. Sun, 15 Jan 2017 20:14:34 EST 3.2 miles walked today. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6298293 I'm 60 calories short on exercise but under on my food although I did hit my calorie goal. After our walk we had salads for lunch. My green leafy salad included a tablespoon on pepitas and a tablespoon of sunflower seeds along with avocado. My husband made pork chops and buttered noodles for dinner as we try to use our frozen meats. To make our dinner more plant friendly we also had broccoli crunch salad and Texas caviar. I also picked up lunchmeat so I could get the dogs to take their arthritis medicine. The night at the Opera was yesterday evening. My mom collapsed in her doctor's office because her cardiologist thinks her blood pressure drops when she stands up. So she went from hospital to in-patient care facility to hospital. The last tim (sigh) I was determined to get to the proper BMI. I was about 6 lbs shy and all hockey sticks broke loose. I gained it all back plus a few extra. I just met an interim goal and had to set a new one. I could not pick a number. Shoul I pick 7, 11, 9? I don't like round numbers, the first days of months or last for that matter. There is nothing magic about 180 or March 1. They are just numbers on a scale and days in a life. I need ... We had chicken in chile adobo with veggie and black bean burritos on sprouted grain tortillas for dinner. We used the coconut lime rice in these burritos. I also cleaned out the bottom of the pantry where a can exploded. Pulled everything out, scrubbed the floor, checked the remaining cans for damage and corrosion, checked the dates and reorganized. That made my back tired but I still feel pretty good. She made her veggie pizza topped with spinach, arugula and lemon juice. I contributed a side dish of roasted rutabaga wedges. It was all delicious. Rutabagas were a nice change from fried. Our new addition to the party was nutritional yeast added to the pizza in the place of cheese. I took her to Costco, Aldis and Whole Foods to stock up her pantry and freezer. I purchased chili oil, brown rice some small packages of other grains, miss, tempeh, ta... What's the secret to their mojo? I ended up onegreenplanet but stopped myself from committing $20 to get a year's access to 5000 vegan recipes. Too many too many. My husband decided that would be ribs. So I had 4 ribs with barbeque sauce for dinner. My daughter made a fabulous vegan lasagna. High in calories but also loaded with nutrients and very filling. Mon, 21 Nov 2016 18:31:03 EST Sleepless in Chicago http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6254703 October is a tough month for me. Year end reports are always due at the end of the month. I actually have 3 year ends every year. State, federal and calendar. I always end up setting resolutions too. Next year I'm going to get that done faster, better, more quickly. This year has been like a nightmare. Continuous audits and federal reviews, new laws, retirements, office relocations, new management, increasing responsibilities, decreasing staff. Somehow I'm always behind on my reports and wo... Today I tried to go to the Revivalist Food Hall for lunch. It's new, it's cool. I walked in. I walked around, I walked out. It's muy, expensive. It's ridiculously crowded and it was like a frat party. I suddenly became very aware that there were very few women there. I think knowing what you know can be useful. And knowing what you like can be really useful. It can provide a roadmap of sorts. Some people get stuck on what they know and what they like. I want to know what I like and maybe use it as a jumping off point to other things.

So here are 5 things I really like to eat. Because 10 is just too much. My new health insurance has a program where they have you speak with a nurse over the phone every so often. In exchange, they cover you at a higher percentage and lower your deductible. One positive step I've taken is that I got the labs in under the wire for the deadline to sign up and I just scheduled the phone appointment. Now, never-mind that if I hadn't been stuck in a wheelchair that I would not have given these a second, third or fourth thought. I think this is all about the perceived loss of opportunity rather than actual opportunity cost as its taught in Economics 101. I think about all th... The special project which the big giant boss tossed me ended up being more like 130% of my time rather than 30% of my time. I finally had do go into boss #3 who lives in the universe between the supervisor and super boss and tell him he needed to dis-engage me from something. <B... It's a state park on I-55 just south of I-80. The DesPlaines, Kankakee and Illinois Rivers all come together in this area.

If you love to fish, shoot skeet, practice archery, work with your hunting dog, horseback riding, boating or pheasant hunting, then this is the state park for you. Unfortunately, camping is no longer allowed due to trouble with the well and due to a shortage of c... Sun, 27 Mar 2011 21:27:10 EST Plateau Busted? Only Time will Tell http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4105004 Sometimes you should just listen to advice. My sister-in-law told me when I got serious about tracking, to go get a good heart rate monitor. I thought it was over-kill. What would I ever need that for? Wasn't I doing great without it? I compromised and found a wrist monitor that you have to touch to get a heart rate. It was on close out at the sports equipment store a few miles away. I quickly realized that it wouldn't work for weight training and the constant touching and checking was ... That story is either good news or bad news depending upon how you want to look at it. I'm not burning as many ... Tue, 15 Mar 2011 21:26:57 EST Now It's Going To Get Interesting . . . http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4052868 I'm coming up on me re-anniversary on Spark. (March3) It's been 1 year since I got serious. It's been a pretty fun year and I have to say that fortunately my job has not been all that demanding. That is all about to change. Last week I was notified that I'm going to be assigned to a new team for 30% of the time as the right hand of the #2 person in our huge organization. I did not ask for this assignment I was just assigned.

This team is tasked with changing some business pro... I decided to pull out the measuring tape out of curiosity. Since November my work outs and eating habits have changed drastically.

Instead of 2, 3 or more hours of daily walking, and my 4 mile bike commute to and from the train station, I've temporarily switched to 1 hour of walking (my leisurely stroll between work and the train station downtown during the week), and a 30 minute cardio interval workout or weight lift...
