VIKIHUTCHISON's SparkPeople Blog VIKIHUTCHISON's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community It's a Brand New Day! 67

It's a brand new day! Let's start it focused not on what we aren't, and not on what we can't do, but instead on what we are, what we have, and all the ways we CAN accomplish our goals!

Today I'm NOT focusing on the number on the scale or where I wish I was. I AM focusing on the next positive thought, the next clean meal, the next healthy bite, the next active workout, the next step I can take to move me closer to my goals and dreams.

I AM focuse... Wed, 6 Mar 2013 10:45:57 EST Fear Eating I've been MIA lately. Dear daughter and grandson were here last week and we indulged way more than I would have liked, although I did manage to keep workouts at 100%. I see now that I had made a stronger commitment to my workouts than I did to my food plan before they even arrived. Dear son and I even had a conversation about how we allow other people's eating habits to throw off our own. So we're brainstorming ways to stay committed regardless of where we are or who we're with. I know a lot ... Tue, 5 Mar 2013 10:15:53 EST Creating Accountability I am the first to admit that tracking my food and fitness can seem like a chore, and a total drag, some days. I mean, with everything I have to do in a day: writing, coaching my Hope & Healing clients, occasional speaking gigs, cooking for hubby and the man-child, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, car pooling, showering (Ooh, did I get a shower today? LOL!) there are days when even just prepping healthy food and eeking out a workout is pushing the boundaries of my already bloated schedule.... Sat, 23 Feb 2013 11:36:43 EST Learning to Adjust Well, I had 'lap swim and yoga' on my fitness schedule for today, but we had icy rain during the night and the roads are covered over making a half hour, early morning drive to the pool not something I want to risk. So today is all about adjusting.

237

Being flexible is so important when it comes to a weight loss / body transformation because there are simply going to be days when things don't, or can't, go as planned. In the past I would have let this dera... Fri, 22 Feb 2013 09:39:25 EST Tracking Physical Activity Things are going well. I was able to do an upper body (chest/back) workout and get in two walks yesterday! I find that tracking my physical activity here on SparkPeople keeps me aware of how much, or how little, I'm moving and makes me want to move more in order to see those minutes and points increase. Kind of like a fun game where the benefits include getting active and fit!

320

I was a bit confused about how to track my P90X workout because when I put in... Thu, 21 Feb 2013 11:32:54 EST Happy Hump Day All! It's Wednesday, and Day 3 of my SP transformation journey.

In spite of the fact that I had a forced rest day yesterday with back still tender and ankle tweaked I'm still seeing and feeling positive results just by keeping the food tight. So I'm not feeling nearly as frustrated this morning as I was yesterday afternoon! A nice win!

Food is planned in the tracker for the day, and I'm feeling good so it looks like my scheduled workout is in the cards - yeaaaahh! I just fee... Wed, 20 Feb 2013 08:34:39 EST A Fun Goal So today is Day 2 of my SP Transformation Journey. So far so good, LOL!

My food is planned for the day, I've had a healthy breakfast and 3 cups of water already, and my scheduled workout is a 1.5 mile walk and yoga - my back is still a little tender, but getting better, and I think today's workout is doable and will give me another "easy" day to recover. Then it's P90X tomorrow, baby! 34

Although I usually do well with getting my daily scheduled workout in I... Tue, 19 Feb 2013 10:32:02 EST Day 1 ~ P.M. So today has gone pretty good. An extra piece or two of dark chocolate which I hadn't planned on, but I recorded it to keep myself honest.

Other than that my food has been healthy, and I got my scheduled 1.5 mile walk in. The sun was shining, so I absorbed some good old vitamin D, win-win, and the dog loved being out and about!

Back's still twinge-ing a bit, but not too bad, so just taking it one step at a time.

Water is on track.

Overall a good d... Mon, 18 Feb 2013 19:19:19 EST Day 1 - A.M. 249 Today is officially Day 1 of being back on track and tracking my food and fitness through SparkPeople.

I sat down last night and made a food plan in the nutrition tracker to be sure I was within my suggested calories and nutrients. So I have a plan of action in place and started the day with healthy whole oats, wild blueberries and sunflower seeds. Water intake is on track, although I don't usually struggle with that too much.

I had Zumba on my fitness ca... Mon, 18 Feb 2013 09:52:40 EST New Motivation So I blogged yesterday about how I had recently taken off 17 pounds but then fell off the wagon and eats have been completely out of control, and how as a result I was afraid to face the scale and see what kind of damage I had done.

Well this morning as I was getting out of bed my eyes fell on the scale in the corner and I decided to be brave and face the music.

Yes, I have regained some of what I lost, but I'm still down 8.8 pounds from my start weight so I hadn't com... Sun, 17 Feb 2013 10:43:04 EST A New Beginning I have spent the past two days exploring SparkPeople and figuring things out. So much motivation and so many wonderful tracking tools! Love it! A little overwhelmed with all there is to acclimate to, but I know given time and persistence I'll figure it all out.

A little background info on me: I was a dancer for 25 years, but was sidelined with a back injury about eight years resulting in a period of convalescence that lasted about a year and a half. During that time and the year af... Sat, 16 Feb 2013 21:43:58 EST
