It was agonizing and I'm still in pain. I dealt with said dumping by engaging in unhealthy behavior which is unacceptable. And now, two days after, I am still feeling the effects.

I guess a good thing is a ate a bowl of cereal this morning and I am drinking coffee. Tue, 5 Nov 2013 08:17:21 EST (Not a blog entry) Archiving Previous About Me section.

********************************
2013 - A New Year - A New Challenge!!!

I am really excited about the new year. Today is 12/31/12 and I weighed in at 173.8. This is the lowest I've weighed in my adult life EVER. Period. Since before 18. That was almost 20 years ago. I'm so sad that I allowed myself to be that overweight for that long. I've lost so many good times, but it's okay, because I am succeeding now.

Word is there is a SWAT school in January 2014.... Sun, 3 Nov 2013 03:43:10 EST What Happens When You Lose Your Goals It's been a rough year and a half for me. Without going into too much detail, I've had child custody issues and a failing relationship. I've become depressed, I cannot sleep, I have not exercised and I am falling apart.

Today, I think, I've nailed down why I am losing it.

During my child custody issue, I had a goal, and I achieved it. At the beginning of this relationship, I put all my effort into making it work, only to have it begin to fall apart. And now, as it falls... Tue, 29 Jan 2013 18:42:36 EST The Food Demon Inside Me I went to the doctor last year for a check-up (and I think I have a particularly great doc). He asked me about my diet and I told him I feel like there is a demon inside me making me eat. I reworded the statement pretty quickly, because I realize it sounded crazy. And still does. He nodded, but the look on his face lead me to believe he really didn't understand.

See, I do feel like there is something inside of me. I call it a "switch" mostly, because that sounds less crazy. This sw... Sun, 20 Jan 2013 10:40:27 EST First Pull-Up! Went to a friend's house and they encouraged me to do a pull up and I did it in the doorway pull-up bar from standing (rather than from totally straight armed).

Either way, this is counting as my first pull up!

Age: 37
Weight: 170.6
Height: 5'8" (You'll perhaps notice I was 5'9" yesterday. Well, the doc set me straight :/ )

Just for recording purposes!! Tue, 8 Jan 2013 21:16:28 EST As requested pictures of the jeans! I was thrilled to go into Gap and get a size 10 jean! I searched and searched a few weeks ago for jeans, but was sadly disappointed. Gap has always fit me perfectly (when I select the proper size)!!

So, I needed a t-shirt too so I could use my $15 coupon off my $75 purchase, so I grabbed a large and medium t-shirt. I get to the dressing room and try on the medium and come out and my daughter is like, "Uhh..I think that shirt is too big." I thought so too, but for the life of me, I... I MUST share this recipe. I had it today with my protein shake after my strength training workout. The protein shake has a lot of calories, so I can't really drink that AND eat a full lunch on a calorie restricted diet. Fri, 23 Nov 2012 12:33:37 EST Finished P90x Week 5!! Just a little update - still at it. Week 5 was rough with work. I managed to do all three weight training workouts and plyometrics. I missed two workouts, yoga and kempo. I did run two or so times last week.

Anyway, my point is, it wasn't a perfect week, but it was a realistic week. I'm happy to say, in the face of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Sandy, I braved the Wicked 10k at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront this morning. The winds were SO harsh! There were a couple of times when I walked with my head down so my hat didn't blow off!

It was a pretty draining race. There were about 9,000 participants, so lots of folks to bob and weave around. I finished the 6.2 miles in 1h:09m:41s, which is a pretty decent improvement from the spring which was 2 minutes slower. Mon, 22 Oct 2012 06:26:38 EST This is how weak I've allowed myself to get!!! This is not a self bashing blog, just a note of facts.

(a) In 2010, I could do 33 standard form push-ups in a row.

Today, I struggle to do one.

(b) In 2010, using the assisted pull-up machine, I could pull-up 175 lbs of my body weight.

Today, I can only pull up 110 lbs of my body weight - and with difficulty.

I just thought it was important to make a note to myself that I can't keep letting these health achievements be lost! I went to see the doc not too long ago about my weight and some options for me (BMI scale has me at obese at the time of the appointment). So, I paid my $20 co-pay, and insurance paid $30 (it looks like), so they billed me for the other $157!!! ACK!!!

Anyone else have any ideas? Sat, 6 Oct 2012 17:53:37 EST Operation Drop Three Sacks of Potatoes has been going on for years!! Operation Drop Three Sacks of Potatoes started on July 4, 2010 at 208.8 lbs. The idea was to get rid of 3 sacks of potatoes, so that running was easier.

Sack 1 - 208.8 - 200 (8.8 lbs) has come and gone at least 5 times since then.
Sack 2 - 199 - 190 (10 lbs) has come and gone at least 2 times since then.
Sack 3 - 189-180 (10 lbs) never quite left.

So I pick this challenge up again. Tue, 2 Oct 2012 19:55:03 EST Perfect Diet - No F'ing Weight Loss All Week So, I weighed in last Monday at 196.6 - very good. All this week I have gotten on the scale and it says 197.0, not one tenth of a pound up or down, always 197 on the nose. My diet this week has been PERFECT at 1300 calories a day (exactly on average), I've exercised, drank my water, ate high protein, average carb, low fat...etc., etc.

And not ONE ounce gone. As a matter of fact, a 0.4 lb gain on the scale.

It is ABSOLUTELY frustrating.

Oh don't worry, I'm ke... Sun, 30 Sep 2012 09:33:24 EST New Rules of Lifting for Women - Start I hate posting things when I first start them, because them I'm sort of held accountable for my failures, but here it is, I started a weight lifting program.

Nothing really special, just a book I picked up that I had read some good reviews on. So we'll see what happens! I'll keep you posted :) Tue, 15 May 2012 22:58:20 EST My Fitness Pal I just have to say, I love spark and my heart will always be here, but the My Fitness Pal app has kept me on track this year. It's free and I am willing to bet it will help you!! Thu, 19 Apr 2012 23:21:13 EST Why is losing weight SO HARD when the rewards are SO AMAZING! Just 10 lbs down and my pants fit amazing. Several other pants that were too tight, now fit too. I can see the difference in my face 10 lbs makes.

So why in the heck does over eating seem so desirable, when losing weight is so rewarding?

I was really happy to sit and eat breakfast in my camo pants which I was busting out of last month...

Here's to staying on track this week (and recovering from this little sickness I got going on!) :) Thu, 22 Sep 2011 11:06:18 EST Average eater this week... I recorded all my food this week, and although I was an average eater (about 2000 calories a day), I recorded all my food. Even my mini-binge of about 600 calories one night.

I feel good about that and it helped me stay on track, even though I didn't eat what I needed to yield a spectacular weight loss.

:)

Good luck to everyone else this week. Thu, 15 Sep 2011 09:39:58 EST Did a little TEN MILE jog tonight :) So, this evening I was laying in bed in my cut off shorts and comfortable t-shirt thinking about a nap, when the thought occurred to me that I did not work out yesterday. My goal this month is to work out every other day and averaging it out to every other day is cheating.

I joked with a friend online that my brain was telling me to jog four miles, but as soon as my body started moving, my body would call my brain a dumba$$ for ever suggesting such a thing.

So, I fired ... Tue, 13 Sep 2011 23:44:36 EST Goal for September 2011 Somebody reminded me that goals at the beginning of the month are important!

This month, simple - stay with the plan and get at least 30 mins of exercise every other day. Not on average, but actually 30 mins every other day.

So far, on track!

I do have a weight goal for the month. I'd like to see 199 again by the end. Sat, 3 Sep 2011 09:29:53 EST Goodness!! I'm a food addict and it's hard to stay focused! I just want to thank my friend EVILKLOWN for keeping me coming back. He is so consistent about checking on me every 1-2 weeks and when I see that in my e-mail inbox, I'm reminded of my journey, which I neglect sometimes...a lot of times.

I ran last night. Two miles. I use the word "run" loosely and I should be ashamed that I've let the cold get to me like I have. I felt totally deconditioned. (Operation Drop 3 Sacks of Potatoes still in progress!) Holidays are my time to challenge myself. It is Monday, December 20th. I weigh 191 lbs. The true goal of this week is to weigh 191 on Monday, December 27th. If I lose a pound, bonus - but the goal is NOT to GAIN!

I did this for Thanksgiving week and somehow rocked a 5.2 lb loss. I'm not sure how that happened, but the challenge is on for this week!

Now for Operation Drop 3 Sacks of Potatoes:

I started at 208.8 - lost sack one (8.8 lbs), sack two was 10 lbs and... Mon, 20 Dec 2010 06:40:27 EST Christmas Party Today: I Need A Plan!! Okay, I had to quickly blog. I wasn't feeling motivated this morning, until I got on the scale and saw 191. Now, my goal for the end of the year is 190. It's not my lowest weight (I dipped to 188 at some point in the last year), but it will keep me from having a net gain for the year - I'll break even.

So, I have a work Christmas party today and I'm glad I weighed in "good." I know the scale shouldn't be my motivator, but had I not seen that loss, I may have gone to this party "bli... Sun, 19 Dec 2010 08:07:13 EST My childhood BFF has joined us!! This is my friend Sandy. Sun, 28 Nov 2010 06:30:57 EST Have a food plan for tomorrow!! Make it today!! I believe it's important to mentally prepare yourself to face something that is challenging for you. For me, food is a challenge, especially if it's layed out buffet style. I put a lot of thought into what I am going to eat on Thanksgiving. If not, I'll eat a full plate of food, get some seconds, and then help myself to a sliver of each type of pie (with whipped cream), and probably top that off with some coffee with cream.

So, here's my plan:
Breakfast:
Healthy - maybe a...
