Sun, 1 Dec 2013 17:54:01 EST Goal Review http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5553096 Is it OK to post goals when you aren't sure you will reach them? I think it must be. If you don't have a target, how do yo know when you hit it or miss it?

I reviewed my goals today re my weight loss journey. I need to somehow kick start it all over again. I have a VERY modest goal to lose a kilo a month for the next twelve months. That will get me part way to my goal weight. Now I just have to figure out how to get the body to cooperate with me in reaching this goal.

Ho... Fri, 29 Nov 2013 23:15:22 EST I like today's inspirational message http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5509192 I liked it so much I thought I would share it with all of you:

"Be not afraid of going slowly: be afraid only of standing still".
~Chinese Proverb

Now that resonated with me as I feel as though I have been standing still for a very long time. Wed, 9 Oct 2013 18:29:49 EST Today's accomplishments http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5451404 Just this minute I have been thinking about what I have accomplished today, as opposed to what I HAVEN'T accomplished. It feels good to think about it from that point of view. Have you ever kept a running list of things you have done for the day? It does feel good to see how long the list is at the end of the day.

Even the way you write about your accomplishments can be positive or negative. Sun, 11 Aug 2013 01:58:34 EST Water http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5372331 Today I'm going to make sure I carry my water bottle with me everywhere. I want to increase my water intake and see if it keeps me feeling full longer. I'm sure my joints and muscles feel better when they are hydrated. Here's what I do. I have a habit of getting tomorrow's breakfast and lunch ready the night before, especially for work days. Then I add the items to my food tracker. It helps so much to have things just ready to go in the morning, since I always take a lot longer to get ready than I should. Any help the night before makes a big difference to me in getting out that door on time, with nutritionally balanced food in hand.

I also choose out the clothes I... This week has been a pretty good one, really. I've stuck to my calorie allowance, walked more and been a bit more hopeful that I can stick with my healthier lifestyle each day. I guess everyone has lapses now and then, right? You just get back to what you know is a better way after that lapse, right?

Right! 334 Thu, 11 Apr 2013 05:34:40 EST Doing OK http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5316923 I did OK today with eating and a little better with walking. We had a day out, finding quotes for motorhome alterations and getting things sorted out. I drove the jolly beast for the first time today. It was nerve-wracking but I think I shall get used to it. I have to. We want to go traveling and I need to drive as hubby and I need to take turns for his health's sake.

Hope your day was a good one.

Tue, 9 Apr 2013 09:36:51 EST Did better today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5315603 Thank you to everyone who encouraged me yesterday when I had fallen in a heap. I managed two or three days last week alrigth, but the rest of the week was not good. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I have been trying to change to a healthy lifestyle since January, with s-l-o-w results (but they are results, nonetheless). I just felt like breaking out, and it seems the scales start showing an increase immediately.

Very discouraging.

OK now I have had my vent, it's time to get back to a healthy lifesty... Sun, 7 Apr 2013 06:45:05 EST My future self http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5291448 I tried to think about what life could be like 10 years from now, if I stick to my goals for a healthier lifestyle. I must have a poor imagination because it was hard to imagine life as very different, except that I do remember what it was like to be my ideal weight and have more energy, more agility, more freedom of movement and enjoyment of those things. Without remembering the past, I could not imagine a future life. Hmm.

Can you imagine a future for yourself, 10 years from now... Already I feel a little less burdened, a little more optimistic, a little more hopeful. It's like working for a long time but being encouraged by the thought of a planned and very special holiday. The anticipation is what motivates me - the thought of feeling lighter, being healthier, having more energy, sitting in chairs more comfortably - all these things are working as anticipatory motivators.

What are some of the things YOU... Sun, 10 Mar 2013 00:39:27 EST It may be working :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5279701 I'm reporting in since I made a couple of slight changes to my daily routine. The scales say I lost a kilo this week. I always check my scales for a few days running to make sure it really is a loss, since my weight loss is so slow (3kgs in 3 months). Maybe drinking the right amount of water and adding a bit of protein to my breakfast is working? I'll keep it up and see how this month goes.

Sat, 9 Mar 2013 04:48:18 EST How much water do you drink? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5269344 Before I renewed my determination to improve my diet and lifestyle, I would drink about 6 to 7 glasses of water a day. Recently I upped that to double the amount. I didn't know I was capable of drinking that much water, but really it isn't hard!

I think it has cut down on the pain I feel in my joints and muscles.
