I resisted doughnuts and cakes in the staffroom, even though we spent the whole day marking exam papers in the staffroom. I found that having a mixture of fruit and one package of crisps really helped with the cravings. Plus, I was under 2,000kcals for the first time since starting Spark. So successes all around.

I've now been on Spark for a month, I've lost a little... I managed to complete a really great stretching video on Blogilates for my legs, and that's off set the soreness in my legs, but my ribs! It hurts to breath in and out! It was a hard workout no doubt, and I did struggle. I ended up splitting the burpees into 3 sets of 5- I was determined to do them all, but after the run, I was getting really dizzy after 7! But the main point is, I got through them. I made a note of what I did, the modification... Tue, 2 Jul 2013 15:34:42 EST Total non-scale victory http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5406309 So I am a runner. I love to run. Sometimes, it takes me a while to get revved up to go, but I nevedr regret a run. EVER. I've, to date, run 2 5ks a 10k, three half marathons, an 8 mile fun run and a Spartan Sprint. I've got another Spartan Sprint and a Spartan Super lined up, and I'm hoping to make it into the London 2014 Marathon, so it's fair to say, I can actually run a fair way. I have endurance. But today, I ran 6 miles without one break to walk. Not one. I walked for 5 mins to warm up, ... Sun, 30 Jun 2013 12:17:01 EST So, I started a challenge thread http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5405180 It's for that eating a rainbow thing I mentioned a couple of blogs ago. It's not a big deal, but if anyone fancies joining in, the thread is here. xoxo
www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageb
oard.asp?imparent=31343246&imboard=8
Sat, 29 Jun 2013 03:44:54 EST What I have learnt about my sugar habits http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5404493 -If i see it, I will want it.

-I will seek it out.

-I need to learn to wait out a craving

-Fridays are the worst for cravings.

Tomorrow, I will be reducing my kcals down to 2,250. It will be interesting to see if this affects my sugar intake, if I am able to reduce the sugar to make room for the good foods.

Until next time, I'll be routing for you!

xoxo Fri, 28 Jun 2013 10:43:56 EST Sugar Challenge entry II http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5402540 So today there was cake and such in the staffroom and I caved again. But I was able to stop at three pieces today, rather than go onto four or five like I usually do. And it got me to thinking: why was that so easy? And then it struck me-it fitted in my kcal intake for the day so I simply ALLOWED myself to have multiple slices of cake.

40

I think we have another breakthrough. The issue now, is when I slice my intake from 2,500 to 2,250 and then to 2,000 etc... Wed, 26 Jun 2013 14:28:30 EST A rainbow of food http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5401612 So I read somewhere on my travels around the internet that it is a good idea to eat a rainbow of fruit and veg everyday. And this got me thinking. I don't actually tend to branch out that much with the old fruit and veg. I need to be more adventurous. So, I think I'm going to try to try one new fruit or vegetable a week. I downloaded a rainbow of fruit and veg chart and I'm going to print it off at school and tick off all the fruit and veg I try! It's nice to be ADDING something to my diet, n... Do you feel powerless to pass up food at a party, even if you've already eaten? When food is in plain sight, it can be so easy to grab a handful simply because it's there. It looks good. You like it. It's right in front of you. What's the harm? Any food that is nearby, visible and easily accessible is hard for anyone to turn down. If you're unabl... Mon, 24 Jun 2013 16:38:24 EST Sugar Challenge entry http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5399123 So one of the goals for the challenge is that I have to blog about my sugar cravings three times a week. Well I thought today was a good a day as any to do it-not that I noticed that much to be honest. But it IS only day one, so I can see if a pattern is established later on in the week.

Mainly I noticed I had a funky after sugar taste in my mouth from yesterdays sugar binge. I didn't like it so I now have a reason not to do it again. Something to hold onto when I feel weak. I was... She's been talking about Romeo. Suddenly, this voice comes out of the darkness declaring. "I'll take thee at thy word. Call me but love, and I'll be new baptized." Fri, 21 Jun 2013 08:38:25 EST What I have learnt from my almost two weeks on Spark People http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5396213 I actually CAN show self control.

I make conscious decisions about if I will or won't eat (excluding binge episodes)

I find nutrition hard.

Cooking in the week is tiring.

I need to work on my sleep pattern.

Rewards work.

I am eating too much.

The majority of my kcals come from baked goods and treats.

My danger zone is the staff room.

What can I do about it?

Find some sort o... Thu, 20 Jun 2013 10:55:47 EST An interesting revelation http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5392288 So I decided that this week, I would be trying to stick to under 2,500 kcals, as I was averaging 3,000kcals last week! But, I have actually realised something. I am a boredom eater! I knew i was an emotional eater, in that I ate when bad things happen, or when I was overwhelmed by things. But in the last two days alone, I realised that I actually eat because I'm bored. When there is nothing to do. I'm not just an extreme emotional eater, I am a day to day emotional eater. So, what I need to d... Mon, 17 Jun 2013 16:56:47 EST Blogging challenge-Your ideal date. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5390803 My ideal date would be active. Something to get the adrenaline going and that we can giggle and talk about afterwards. Rock climbing, hiking biking, just something fun. Then we would get food. LOTS. So I can pig out and eat loads after our adrenaline date. Then we could go to a movie and then drinks.

So basically, it's a whole day date. To celebrate, I treated myself to two new songs for my i-pod:

Gentleman: Psy
Sing: My Chemical Romance.

I promised myself if I can make it another seven days (two weeks total) I'll buy myself Paradise Circus by Massive Attack and a new thread colour for my cross-stitch. Sat, 15 Jun 2013 16:30:24 EST An actual blog http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5388837 So it's Friday-YAY! I've been tracking my food very carefully all week, I haven't tried to change my eating habits, I'm just trying to get the pattern down when I'm eating 'normally'. It's been a shock, and I'm surprised I'm not much heavier. I eat FAR MORE in the week than at weekends, and the majority of it is, surprise surprise, snacks. Sugar, chocolate and cake. It mostly comes from work, when we get given sweets, people bring in cakes etc. What I have noticed, is that I have the 'oh f---... Fri, 14 Jun 2013 09:17:10 EST A movie that makes you cry http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5385986 I am a sensitive soul deep deep down, and there are quite a few. But my top two weepies are

Green Mile

and

Grave of the Fireflies (a Studio Ghibli film)

Both of these are perfect and beautiful, but oh. So. SAD. Tue, 11 Jun 2013 15:30:05 EST Blogging challenge http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5384580 So, on the days when I can't think of any thing to write about, i'll probably just do a blogging challenge- I have a ton of them saved on my laptop. And I liked this one because I think music can be very deceiving-you tend to judge people by what type of music they like, and you pigeon hole them almost, but you can be surprised!

So:
Put your i-tunes on shuffle and write 10 songs that pop up.

Starry-Eyed: Ellie Goulding.
Strict Machine: Goldfrapp
Patt (... Mon, 10 Jun 2013 13:04:35 EST 1st Entry- A long one http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5383161 Well, I'm not great at blogs, so most of my blogs will be blogging challenges unless I have something that I really want to get off my chest. So I'll start with something that I will probably be referring to a lot on here: My 30 before 30 list. It's just a list of things I want to get done before I turn 30 in four years. I'm not sure if I'll make it, but it's nice to have goals. If I don't make it, I'll just add another 10 things on and make it 40 before 40!

30 things to do before ...
